[02:14] underscor: hahahaha [05:05] Picked up an Osborne 1 Personal Computer today. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osborne_1 It works. Can't figure out the floppy thing(maybe broken. check in the morning) [05:05] Comes with 11 5.25" floppy disks [05:09] all of the Personal Pearl disks (1-7) , Amcall disk , SPELLGUARD disks 1 & 2 , and one disk which label was removed. [05:12] Along with Comm-Pac User's Manual , dBase II Tutor , and two big full binders both named 'Approved Software' [05:14] Oh and it came with the modem. Time to archive the disks. [05:15] oh nice [05:15] ha [05:15] Says that it is a portable computer? [05:16] Ya. [05:17] Do'nt know how you're supposed to see anything on that screen :( [05:17] Ya. [05:17] Or carry it around with you a lot since it says it weighs 10.7 kg! [05:19] ya [05:19] lol [05:20] Oh well [05:20] Could just carry that thing around as a sort of gag [05:20] Does it even have batteries? [05:21] woooah [05:21] is this the 300 baud modem? [05:22] Not sure. There is a compartment I can open on the back. but i couldn't open it easily. must look at manual first. [05:22] here is the ad of it on Craigslist. http://denver.craigslist.org/sys/3169251796.html [05:22] says on the wiki that it doesn't have one. [05:23] but there is an aftermarket battery pack offering 1 hour of run time [05:23] Oh.. that one appears to be a later model one. [05:23] Free?!?!? [05:23] It's nice and clean now :) [05:23] Yep :) [05:23] Son of a... [05:23] * brayden wants [05:26] I'll be going to this http://denver.craigslist.org/sys/3180585240.html If the guy emails me the address in time. [07:16] omg [07:16] vintage [07:19] splendid [08:39] the near by walmart has yoohoo in cans again [08:40] its been about 1 year since we seen that last i think [08:50] awesome, the next chaos communication congress will be in my city [08:50] anyone from here going? [10:42] the old joke is that you could tell an osborne user because he had one arm longer than the other [16:58] DFJustin: heh :) [17:00] Okay.. Leaving to the vintage mac sale [17:00] arkhive: good luck! [17:01] Thanks. I'm mainly looking to acquire old software to backup [17:01] arkhive: you're going to come back with a bunch of old shit as well [17:01] :) [17:02] arkhive: it'll be like going into a sweetshop and being like "well, i'm *only* going to get some fizzy cola bottles" [17:02] i mean a very disciplined person COULD do that [17:02] have fun :) [17:02] heh [17:03] thanks [17:03] do let us know what you come back with [19:18] http://aarongiles.com/?p=241 [19:19] er wrong post http://aarongiles.com/?m=201208 [19:20] backing up occuprint.org [20:06] Good: Yahoo! is very good at deleting Yahoo answers spam. [20:06] Bad: Yahoo! is also very good at deleting other data. [20:56] winr4r: I'm back. Took a bunch of pictures of what I got... Should I took pictures of his stuff though. Pics are uploading now. Got some brand new sealed manuals of the Apple II [20:58] I only got one piece of hardware. An Apple 5.25" external floppy drive. But damn, this guys whole shed was filled up with vintage mac stuff. [20:59] But got hundreds of floppies. both 3.5" and 5.25" .. some CDs. a bunch of manuals and books. [20:59] a lot of old 5.25" games. [21:15] arkhive: cool [21:15] i downloading occuprint.org right now [21:16] it maybe over 300mb warc.gz [21:16] cause it has alot of png and pdf files [21:16] also waybackmachine has nothing on this site [21:17] i just hope it finish soon [21:17] i think a thunderstorm is coming [21:20] it sucks that engadget does redirects with dates [21:21] i can't just scan by year/month/day [21:24] i may have to do something crazy to backup engadget.com [21:25] winr4r: pictures of part of my mac mission. (also includes pics of osborne I stuff and both of my commodore disk drives. [21:25] photobucket.com/macintoshresq [21:25] like download all page/# urls and then scan for year and month dates i them [21:25] *in them [21:26] give it a try :) [21:26] i will later [21:26] i still have techcrunch [21:26] and occuprint.org [21:28] i will not be the greatest cause i will have to focus the wget-warc to only capture a list of urls [21:28] *it will not [21:30] can you just capture a list of urls into a warc.gz instead of the full site? [21:30] that way i can have a warc.gz of just 2012/04 captures [21:31] Not sure. [21:39] just thought i would ask [21:45] occuprint.org is past 480mb mark [21:45] i just hope it finish soon [21:46] power is fickering here [21:47] on another note i got doom 3 alpha that was released in e3 2002 [21:48] arkhive: yay! [22:19] looks like engadget used the same web host for there pictures back in 2004 [22:19] like hackaday did [22:19] weblogsinc.com [23:35] occuprint.org is done [23:51] it looks like my .tar.gz mirror dump will have to be changed [23:51] the warc.gz will be original [23:52] but adding --html-extension cause things to break in normal lighttpd setup [23:53] most cause you get urls like this: http://occuprint.org/Posters/AmericaIsBroke [23:54] but the AmericalsBroke part is html with no extension [23:56] i will write a script to put all html files in ${basename}/index.html [23:57] this way when you go to link above when emulating occuprint.org locally it will work
