07:31 🔗 godane here it is: http://kastatic.com/i2/users/25eb6f68f8b1b2169cecad4f6945f7ea.jpg
07:34 🔗 godane i got all kastatic.com images from dump now
07:47 🔗 Schbirid what does --warc-cdx do and is it needed?
07:56 🔗 alard It makes a cdx file, an index of the records in your warc file. It's only useful if you regularly download the same site. The second time you can use --warc-dedup with your cdx file. Wget will then replace any duplicate records with a reference to the record in the first warc.
08:03 🔗 godane i got a lot better dump this time
08:03 🔗 godane 46mb of images
08:03 🔗 godane instead of just 18mb
10:46 🔗 godane i grabed over 400mb of images from kat.ph/blog dump
11:15 🔗 godane uploading my kat.ph/blog dump
11:16 🔗 godane with ~450mb of images

13:02 🔗 emijrp who is going to archive blogspot?
13:10 🔗 godane i think Sketchcow start that
14:41 🔗 DFJustin http://archive.org/details/OutcallEscortServicesByHollowayEscorts
15:43 🔗 balrog_ alard: suggestion for wget mirror: it should query all subdirs for indices
16:12 🔗 DFJustin http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2012/08/the-surprising-stealth-rebirth-of-the-american-arcade/
17:34 🔗 alard balrog_: Send the Wget maintainers a patch. :) Alternatively, you could use a Lua script to look for the indices.
18:53 🔗 SmileyG so..... wifes hawt friend drops off two laptops which she needs the photos transferring from one to the other on....
18:53 🔗 SmileyG hmmmmm
19:09 🔗 Lord_Nigh gonna use one of those 'transfer cable' things?
19:34 🔗 DFJustin lol #2 on the IA bittorrent charts is http://archive.org/details/ImgurClopCompilationV2
19:35 🔗 none23984 what was the first dvdrip scene release?
19:36 🔗 none23984 I think it was around 2001
19:37 🔗 none23984 early
19:38 🔗 none23984 The XviD Releasing Standards is from 2005, it banned DivX
19:47 🔗 Schbirid_ nice http://tos-dr.info/#services
19:52 🔗 Schbirid_ http://www.tosback.org/timeline.php is dead :(
20:15 🔗 arkhive What does AT think of Zoom Floppy for dumping Commodore floppies?
20:16 🔗 arkhive I'm thinking about purchasing one.
20:18 🔗 DFJustin it works great for non-copy-protected disks
20:19 🔗 arkhive but not for copy protected ones?
20:19 🔗 DFJustin if your drive is compatible with the firmware it uploads it can read some (most?) copy-protected disks but not as well as a flux device like kryoflux/discferret
20:20 🔗 arkhive ah. Alright.
20:20 🔗 SketchCow Kickstarter responded to my kickstarter telling me they didn't think it would be successful.
20:21 🔗 arkhive Also, what does AT recommend for dumping Osborne I Portable Computer 5.25" floppies?
20:21 🔗 SketchCow Not that I violated any terms, not that I didn't follow the rules, but that they have an opinion it won't be succesful.
20:21 🔗 SketchCow Talk about no dog in the fucking fight.
20:23 🔗 none23984 they are wrong
20:23 🔗 none23984 it will be reached very quickly
20:23 🔗 DFJustin http://forum.kryoflux.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=437 has some details about c64 preservation
20:24 🔗 Coderjoe well, if it isn't successful, they don't get their cut of the collected funds
20:24 🔗 none23984 SketchCow how much did the container costs to you when you buyed it?
20:24 🔗 DFJustin I think softpres are soliciting original disks to be mailed to them if you don't want to deal with copy-protection yourself
20:24 🔗 Coderjoe DFJustin: has KF changed on their stupid license stance yet?
20:24 🔗 DFJustin not that I've heard but I haven't checked
20:26 🔗 DFJustin personally I'm not keen on them because they aren't releasing or publicly documenting their dumps in any way but anything is better than having disks rotting in a box
20:26 🔗 none23984 what about smaller pledges, like $5, $10, $15, $20?
20:27 🔗 SketchCow I want 20 people to give me $100.
20:27 🔗 SketchCow That's pretty simple.
20:27 🔗 SketchCow If kickstarter rejects, I'll just put a page up.
20:27 🔗 SketchCow Get it by next week.
20:27 🔗 SketchCow Anyway, lying down, then coming back to edit and upload.
20:27 🔗 arkhive SketchCow: What is this about? Link please.
