Link redirects to Soundcloud. Soundcloud links to Free Download through some website I haven't heard of. Link redirects to Facebook. Facebook then loads a blank page because it has javascript that I haven't whitelisted. Reloading with Javascript allowed, I get a huge list of tracks each with an e [06:17] mbedded SoundCloud player. All of the Flash instances have slowed the browser to a crawl, and finally lock up the browser completely. Finally it loads, but by this point I've forgotten what made the remix worth listening to. Moral of the story: Please please please anyone reading this, if you post something online, for my sake avoid URL shorteners, Flash, and websites that don't make their data at least as accessible as the Internet [06:17] Archive. I'd like to update it, and for that, I have three questions, if you may answer. [18:50] 1. Is the following paragraph true yet? "There are backups done by the hosting provider (several, going back days and weeks as well as hours), which use the storage capability of the shared hosting to keep them automatically (no tape or disk backups being done as most people would think of them). There are similarly copies of the database kept going back months." [18:50] 2. The section also says the following: "Additionally, an XML dump of the Mediawiki database (which can be imported into any MediaWiki software) is accessible at http://www.archiveteam.org/dumps. New backups are currently pushed out once a week (and will be increased if changes on the site require it). All images are also wrapped into a images.tar.gz file". Now, the link gives 404. Shall I remove this piece of information, as I guess dumps are not ser [18:50] ved anymore? [18:50] 3. There is a link to an archive.org item with the wikidump from August 2011. But there is another item that contains newer, also 2013 and 2014 dumps (I'd like to give the link but I can't at the moment as archive.org is down). I guess I should link there from the wiki, as they are "official" backups, right? [18:50] Thank you for your answers, I'm just trying to keep a piece of the wiki up to date. [18:51] whoa bzc6p, irc and email are different [18:51] for 2, if it's no longer true, then it probably shouldn't be listed as true on the wiki [18:52] you could move it to a different part of the page with a section heading "previously" or whatever [18:52] or you could delete it [18:52] We are in "-bs", and the replies may be interesting for others as well [18:52] for 3, yes.
