02:45 🔗 tpw_rules so what's the deal with imaging old mac CDs? can infrarecorder to an iso capture everything? there's a "read all sub channels and full TOC option"
02:51 🔗 DFJustin iso ought to work
02:54 🔗 tpw_rules i've had issues with some that didn't have the mac partitions
03:03 🔗 SketchCow WHERE'S MY HUG
03:03 🔗 SketchCow Last day in SF
03:04 🔗 tpw_rules SketchCow: *hug*
03:09 🔗 Silas has joined #archiveteam-bs
03:10 🔗 Silas so i'm having issues with the warrior
03:10 🔗 Silas when i try to start it it loads for a bit
03:10 🔗 Silas then the vm crashes
03:10 🔗 Silas http://pastebin.com/TY75MDKw VBox.log
03:10 🔗 Silas it would be great if someone could help
03:11 🔗 tpw_rules do you have a link to the actual thing?
03:12 🔗 tpw_rules it could just be incompatible
03:12 🔗 Silas what do you mean by "the actual thing"
03:12 🔗 tpw_rules like whatever the warrior is
03:12 🔗 tpw_rules so i can download it and give it a shot, perhaps
03:13 🔗 Silas uhh
03:13 🔗 Silas like
03:13 🔗 Silas the actual warrior appliance
03:13 🔗 Silas ???
03:13 🔗 Silas i dont understand
03:13 🔗 tpw_rules okay maybe i'm understanding you wrong. i assume you've downloaded some game from the internet archive and can't get it to work and wonder why you're here
03:13 🔗 tpw_rules am i stupid?
03:13 🔗 SketchCow Yes.
03:13 🔗 tpw_rules (probably)
03:13 🔗 SketchCow But adorable
03:13 🔗 Silas no tpw
03:13 🔗 Silas lol
03:13 🔗 SketchCow He was talking about the Archive Team Warrior appliance/vm
03:14 🔗 tpw_rules oh
03:14 🔗 Silas im trying to run the ArchiveTeam Warrior
03:14 🔗 tpw_rules that would make more sense
03:14 🔗 Frogging http://archiveteam.org/index.php?title=Warrior
03:14 🔗 tpw_rules sorry
03:15 🔗 Silas lol
03:15 🔗 tpw_rules that actually looks like a neat idea. i need to run it
03:18 🔗 SketchCow tpw_rules: Chaotic Beutral
03:18 🔗 SketchCow Silas: I don't have advice for this issue. Most common issues with VMs are disk space and RAM
03:19 🔗 Silas hm
03:19 🔗 Silas its strange
03:19 🔗 SketchCow Ever use the VM software before?
03:20 🔗 SketchCow Is this the first image you've ever run?
03:20 🔗 Silas yeah
03:20 🔗 Silas ive used VBox before
03:20 🔗 Silas i can run windows guests fine, i havent tried a linux os in vbox before
03:20 🔗 Silas so
03:20 🔗 Silas *shrug*
03:21 🔗 SketchCow Like I said. Memory and Disk
03:21 🔗 SketchCow That's almost always it
03:21 🔗 Silas nope
03:21 🔗 Silas enough ram
03:21 🔗 Silas enough disk
03:26 🔗 Silas i just tried to start the warrior again and observed it more closely
03:26 🔗 Silas it crashes just after "loading inital ramdisk"
03:35 🔗 dashcloud so, are you getting a Guru error, and are you running a 64 bit version of Windows?
03:36 🔗 dashcloud if so, do you have any virtualization extensions turned on in the BIOS/EFI settings?
04:43 🔗 xmc tpw_rules: i've heard it said a bunch in here that the best way to image a cd is to take a BIN/CUE dump, and also an ISO next to it
04:43 🔗 xmc it'll double the size, but bin/cue gets the raw data, and iso is browsable on archive.org
04:44 🔗 tpw_rules xmc: i found a program which claims to make a bin/cue if an iso wouldn't contain anything, so i'll try that out. but thanks
04:44 🔗 xmc glad to help
04:44 🔗 tpw_rules also i assume only iso9660 ones are browsable
04:44 🔗 tpw_rules a lot of these are HFS
04:45 🔗 xmc correct, iso9660 are browseable
04:45 🔗 xmc bin/cue is very important if there are multiple tracks on the disc
04:46 🔗 tpw_rules okay, that's what i figured. thanks for the info
04:46 🔗 tpw_rules i think this program generates an iso for one track discs and bin/cue for multi-track ones
04:46 🔗 tpw_rules (imgburn)

05:00 🔗 yipdw I feel like there should be a Project Gnutenberg but I don't know what it'd do
05:18 🔗 xmc oh goodness, merged channel buffers makes low-traffic archiveteam project channels much easier to manage
05:19 🔗 xmc i finally got around to combining them all, and it's gooood

22:07 🔗 HCross schbirid, hubic is slooow. 10Mbps
22:08 🔗 schbirid shiiiiiit

22:16 🔗 schbirid https://www.jottacloud.com/en/ is about 7€ per month for 10TB (T&C), anyone used them?
22:19 🔗 godane SketchCow: so i heard you getting rid of the Storage Cube?
22:26 🔗 Start has quit IRC (Quit: Disconnected.)
22:37 🔗 SketchCow yes
22:37 🔗 ndiddy is that like a game cube
22:38 🔗 SketchCow y
22:39 🔗 ndiddy that's stupid
22:39 🔗 ndiddy who would make a storage device that only works with those little discs
22:39 🔗 ndiddy they hold like 1.2 gigs each
22:40 🔗 xmc much like tube amps sound better, magazine scans look better when they're served off minidisc
22:41 🔗 xmc it's science
22:43 🔗 ndiddy dude audiophiles are just stupid
22:43 🔗 ndiddy "oh play your music cds on a playstation 1 for the best sound"
22:47 🔗 Ravenloft its a specific version
22:47 🔗 ndiddy dude i have an "audiphile ps1"
22:47 🔗 Ravenloft give it to me
22:48 🔗 ndiddy maybe it's because i don't have "golden ears" or w/e but one time i played a cd on it to test out my replacement laser and it just changes the sound of the audio
22:49 🔗 ndiddy Ravenloft: just search "scph-1001" or "scph-5501" on ebay if you want one
22:49 🔗 ndiddy i wouldn't get the 1001 tho due to the fact that you might have to play it upside down
22:50 🔗 Ravenloft I dont want one
22:50 🔗 Ravenloft well, unless its free
22:50 🔗 ndiddy again, wouldn't bother
22:51 🔗 ndiddy the only reason i wanted one is because older models have the parallel port on the back so you can use those bootleg gamesharks to play burnt games
