02:03 🔗 SketchCow Someone will hand it over
02:03 🔗 SketchCow Don't worry
02:03 🔗 SketchCow DON'T WORRY
02:04 🔗 Fusl i am worried though
02:07 🔗 Fusl SketchCow: can you inquire with IA if they are willing to colocate a server for us with 10gbit connectivity, would be using it as WARC import buffer before feeding it into the S3 endpoint?
02:08 🔗 systwi Someone posted the SM64 source code!? And I missed it???
02:08 🔗 systwi I assume it's not in WBM
02:09 🔗 systwi I have the Snapchat and iOS 9 source code from when that was leaked on Github
02:09 🔗 SketchCow I guaranteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
02:09 🔗 SketchCow eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
02:09 🔗 SketchCow eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
02:09 🔗 Fusl it was stored at https://github.com/SM64-TAS-ABC/sm64_source

02:10 🔗 systwi E
02:10 🔗 Fusl Guest6: thats the wrong one
02:10 🔗 kpcyrd where was it announced?
02:10 🔗 Guest6 Oh
02:10 🔗 SketchCow https://i.ytimg.com/vi/eulXScl6Yo4/hqdefault.jpg
02:11 🔗 SketchCow When you say 10bit
02:11 🔗 SketchCow You mean on the network
02:11 🔗 Fusl 10Gbit, not 10bit
02:11 🔗 kpcyrd I was thinking about a bot that grabs github repos that attract traffic, keep a copy for a while and if the repo stays up the copy is deleted, if it goes down it's keeping the copy
02:11 🔗 Fusl and yes, network
02:11 🔗 SketchCow Like, there won't be a situation where you get a special thing that gets treated special
02:11 🔗 SketchCow But you basically want a FOS
02:11 🔗 SketchCow That's not doing 56,000 other things
02:11 🔗 Fusl SketchCow: i want FOS but with a shit ton of hard drives
02:12 🔗 SketchCow What is a shit ton
02:12 🔗 Fusl like, 96 8tb or 10tb hard drives
02:12 🔗 systwi Synonym for "a lot"
02:12 🔗 SketchCow Who's the local in that situation.
02:12 🔗 SketchCow Who's the person who comes in to do swaps
02:12 🔗 SketchCow When one of the 96 drives dies once a month
02:12 🔗 Fusl ignore them dying and swap out the dead ones once every year
02:13 🔗 SketchCow Fine, I'll bring it up with Jonah
02:13 🔗 kpcyrd it seems I have the wrong hobbies
02:13 🔗 systwi kpcyrd: I like your idea
02:14 🔗 systwi Are there any methods or tools used to backup an entire github repo? (commits, releases, etc., i.e. everything)
02:15 🔗 systwi A git clone is not enough
02:15 🔗 Fusl SketchCow: that being said, we're not in a hurry for it, it probably wont happen until early next year but just planning ahead by a little
02:15 🔗 SketchCow Got it, writing jonah now
02:15 🔗 Fusl systwi: git clone and scan through all branches and tags for a full mirror
02:16 🔗 systwi Fusl: Even individual commits?
02:16 🔗 Flashfire Make a grabsite copy for every commit?
02:16 🔗 Fusl systwi: a git clone will always pull in the commits
02:16 🔗 godane has joined #archiveteam-bs
02:16 🔗 Flashfire Its messy but it might work
02:17 🔗 SketchCow Sent a message to Jonah
02:17 🔗 Fusl thanks
02:17 🔗 SketchCow When you burn out and have your breakdown, it's going to be spectacular
02:18 🔗 SketchCow But let's ride this ice pony into the earth's core and see what happens
02:18 🔗 SketchCow Got a link to the kind of server that can hold 96 drives
02:18 🔗 Fusl JAA: have an idea for snscrape: github repos (commits, prs, issues, etc.)
02:18 🔗 Fusl SketchCow: sorry, it was 90 drives, not 96
02:18 🔗 systwi I can try both of those, thanks, I just thought I read somewhere or someone on Discord told me that git clone doesn't make an all-encompassing repo duplicate, that other tools were required.

02:20 🔗 Fusl a friend of mine has works at a company thats getting dissolved very likely early next year, they are throwing out all the hardware, they have a couple of those machines and im gonna get a few, including the HDDs, but dont know yet what size they are (8 or 10tb)

05:44 🔗 LowLevelM www.ravelry.com has made some pretty bad business decisions, and should probably be put on fire drill.
06:02 🔗 hook54321 LowLevelM: We would probably need a list of all the patterns and/or all the designers on the site
06:04 🔗 LowLevelM What do you mean by patterns?
06:04 🔗 hook54321 example: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/arbusto
06:04 🔗 LowLevelM Ok
06:06 🔗 LowLevelM The reason the site should be put on fire drill is they recently banned there core user base, Trump supporters.
06:13 🔗 hook54321 out of curiosity, how did that become their core user base?
06:13 🔗 hook54321 as a knitting site
06:14 🔗 LowLevelM I have no clue, just spotted it in the news
06:15 🔗 LowLevelM Maybe because knitting is popular with the older people
06:16 🔗 hook54321 hm
06:36 🔗 astrid that's not what i read
06:44 🔗 LowLevelM astrid Can you send me the link?

06:46 🔗 hook54321 basically, banning discussion on something or material related to it is not the same as banning people that support it.
06:47 🔗 LowLevelM Ok, didn't realize that. Thank you
06:47 🔗 LowLevelM I have stopped using fox news since, because of how they stretch the truth.
06:50 🔗 hook54321 I don't understand why users of a site for knitting would leave over this, since the site is about knitting, I would assume at least.
06:51 🔗 LowLevelM People may have been knitting trump things
06:51 🔗 * hook54321 shrugs
06:55 🔗 hook54321 I doubt there's many projects related to that on there. I wouldn't consider this urgent.
07:23 🔗 hook54321 yeah, looked through a few articles on it, I think the site is going to be fine.

23:52 🔗 Emmett Hello, I was told to go here to report a webcomic host that is at risk, Specifically Comicgenesis. It's in a state of disrepair right now as they disabled php site wide for security reasons. The comic updater is broken as a result of that, requiring comic authors to manually edit html to update their comics.
23:53 🔗 Igloo Hello!
23:53 🔗 Igloo Got some links?
23:53 🔗 Emmett The general consensus amongst users is to jump ship to a different comic hosting platform such as smackjeeves
23:54 🔗 Emmett Yep, just a sec
23:54 🔗 Ryz So yeah, here's the situation, while the main website and the forums were archived by ArchiveBot back in 2018 July, the sub-domains that represents the actual meat of the content, as in the actual comics themselves appears to have yet to be processed in ArchiveTeam itself
23:54 🔗 Emmett http://forums.comicgenesis.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=171086
23:54 🔗 Emmett And http://forums.comicgenesis.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=171088
23:54 🔗 Ryz It doesn't help that the search function, the random comics button, and the categories function of the website do not work anymore
23:58 🔗 Emmett Some comics are listed on the wayback archive of their wiki, the actual wiki doesn't work anymore probably cause of the php thing https://web.archive.org/web/20160524140339/http://cgwiki.comicgenesis.com/index.php?title=Main_Page
