[15:43] some of them they've been building USB on board [15:43] no, these all have SATA but you might need to cover the 3.3V pins [15:44] Why aren't they selling any naked 10TB drives on amazon? seems they've been doing this sorta thing for a while now [15:44] people buying up WD elements/books to strip the drives out of because they're cheaper than retail [15:48] i mean, they do, but they cost 2x to 3x as much as this USB drive [15:49] https://www.amazon.com/s?k=ultrastar+10TB&pldnSite=1 [15:49] price discrimination & extra warranty [15:49] *** DogsRNice has joined #archiveteam-ot [15:49] Isn't it bc they have their cloud backup remote access crapware loaded on it ? This means that it might span different time windows on different pipelines, and you have no clue what those time windows are since the pipeline output doesn't include a datetime of each message. That could be fixed with a wrapper though. [21:16] *** dhyan_nat has quit IRC (Read error: Operation timed out) [21:27] Yeah I was thinking if I wrapped it I could read each line as it came out parse out a status code (if there is one, somehow) tag it with a date and store it in something like influx, I wanna say "shouldn't be to hard" but that's totally jinxing it haha [21:44] *** VerifiedJ has quit IRC (Quit: Leaving) [22:15] *** BlueMax has joined #archiveteam-ot [22:28] *** BlueMax has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer) [23:07] *** bluefoo has joined #archiveteam-ot
