00:00 🔗 omf_ Should we start a wiki page and irc channel?
00:00 🔗 omf_ I recommend #fuckoracle
00:03 🔗 chronomex do we have the mercurial repos yet?
00:04 🔗 omf_ do you mean this stuff http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/
00:05 🔗 chronomex looks like it, yes
00:05 🔗 balrog- the src probably needs an hg clone
00:05 🔗 chronomex I will gladly handle the source repos
00:05 🔗 balrog- if its a mercurial webview then crawling it is a waste of time
00:05 🔗 chronomex yes
00:05 🔗 chronomex you want to clone and then bundle
00:06 🔗 chronomex I did that for Symbian: http://archive.org/details/SymbianOpenSource
00:06 🔗 balrog- oh nice :)
00:06 🔗 balrog- I wish someone had done this with QNX
00:06 🔗 chronomex :|
00:06 🔗 balrog- because when blackberry got QNX they killed public SVN read
00:07 🔗 chronomex :|
00:07 🔗 omf_ blackberry just fucks things up
00:07 🔗 chronomex much like oracle
00:07 🔗 omf_ look at them now, 1 phone to try and beat everyone else
00:07 🔗 omf_ oracle fucks things up but they still make money
00:07 🔗 omf_ blackberry not so much
00:09 🔗 chronomex sure
00:10 🔗 omf_ I do not trust Oracle
00:10 🔗 omf_ Do you know what the interface is to get the hg repos
00:11 🔗 chronomex investigating
00:17 🔗 chronomex http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/indiana/GSG-LiveCD/ -> hg clone ssh://anon@hg.opensolaris.org/hg/indiana/GSG-LiveCD/
00:20 🔗 chronomex 'll take a bit of jiggery-pokery to generate a list of urls, but I can do that this week
00:34 🔗 S[h]O[r]T if there are large isos that you need backed up and dont have the bw, ping me
00:35 🔗 omf_ I will keep an eye out
01:41 🔗 balrog- one other thing: possible mailing lists on opensolaris.org?
01:41 🔗 balrog- also is there an ftp?
01:42 🔗 balrog- http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Main/
01:42 🔗 balrog- this will need special handling... it's a wiki
01:44 🔗 balrog- also there's a bugzilla
03:34 🔗 ivan`_ balrog-: http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo (very slow, someone hammering it?)
03:38 🔗 Lord_Nigh omf_ let us know how big the source site is and whether we need multiple leechers
04:14 🔗 S[h]O[r]T alard. chronomex has my user been banned from punchfork tracker? (short) or ip 216.245.217.114
07:06 🔗 omf_ livingsocial just had to have an emergency cash infusion to stop bankruptcy
07:06 🔗 omf_ They lost over a billion in the last 2 years
07:07 🔗 omf_ http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323701904578274120461792576.html
07:08 🔗 Lord_Nigh they must be doing something pretty wrong because i had no idea such a company even existed until now
07:09 🔗 omf_ I remember when they were the biggest app on facebook
07:09 🔗 chronomex yes
07:09 🔗 omf_ they had a beer collection app and a book collection app
07:09 🔗 chronomex and now they aren't
07:09 🔗 omf_ then they canceled both of them
07:09 🔗 omf_ and that was the beginning of the end
07:51 🔗 omf_ yeah livingsocial is in a bad way http://www.privco.com/livingsocial-receives-emergency-110m-cash-infusion-from-existing-investors-to-avoid-bankruptcy
09:23 🔗 Lord_Nigh omf_: whats happening with src.opensolaris.org
09:24 🔗 Lord_Nigh if its going down at 00:00gmt on 2/23 then we have less than 2 days to grab it
10:12 🔗 omf_ Lord_Nigh, it is going down on March 24 according to http://src.opensolaris.org/source/ also there is already work on downloading the source code repos separately
10:12 🔗 omf_ the web interface for them sucks
10:18 🔗 chronomex indeed it does
15:04 🔗 balrog- archive this reddit thread as well as the pictures... http://www.reddit.com/r/houston/comments/18pt71/zaza_insiders_question_whats_up_with_room_322/
15:06 🔗 ersi always, first and foremost use http://liveweb.archive.org/<URL>
15:07 🔗 ersi It won't get everything, but some.
17:20 🔗 S[h]O[r]T i grabbed it locally
17:55 🔗 VonGuard hey balrog- and gdane: I found 3 more GamePro TV episodes
17:55 🔗 VonGuard captured monday or so
19:38 🔗 VonGuard http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/21/ign-layoffs/
19:38 🔗 VonGuard shoudl all that stuff be captured?
19:51 🔗 sfingram sorry for the noob etiquette, but thought in case y'all are unaware, Ziff Davis just announced 1up is being shut down, "winding down" in their words, I assume all user content will follow: http://t.co/q4oB1mEF9C
19:52 🔗 ersi Unshortened URL: http://www.polygon.com/2013/2/21/4014196/ign-layoffs-1up-ugo-and-gamespy-shutting-down
19:52 🔗 ersi sfingram: Thanks for stopping by and telling us
19:52 🔗 sfingram should I try updating the wiki?
19:52 🔗 ersi Feel free, it's a wiki :-)
19:53 🔗 sfingram oh yeah :P
19:54 🔗 alard S[h]O[r]T: Yes, you reached the 250 claims threshold on the Punchfork tracker. I've added your claims back to the queue, so it should work again. (Maybe it's good to check if everything is okay there.)
19:57 🔗 jk_ alard: can you check on the siliconvalleypark account. Haven't been able to get any items for Punchfork.
20:01 🔗 alard jk_: Ah, is that yours. There's something wrong with that one: a lot of requests, but never a result.
20:01 🔗 alard Shall I unblock it?
20:03 🔗 jk_ yes, thanks.
20:03 🔗 alard (I've done that now, it should be downloading 6 items.)
20:04 🔗 jk_ 6 in progress
20:19 🔗 DFJustin shit gamespy too?
20:29 🔗 S[h]O[r]T thnx alard. looks like i was missing the requests module for python
20:32 🔗 alard Ah, it's always something like that.
20:32 🔗 S[h]O[r]T and bs4.. :p
21:06 🔗 S[h]O[r]T bs4.FeatureNotFound: Couldn't find a tree builder with the features you requested: lxml. Do you need to install a parser library?
21:06 🔗 S[h]O[r]T slowly getting there
21:09 🔗 alard That's complicated. Python 2.7 doesn't have that, I think.
21:09 🔗 alard (It had something to do with support for Python 2.6, in any case.)
21:14 🔗 S[h]O[r]T im running 2.6. should i update to 2.7 i guess?
21:21 🔗 alard Or install the lxml thing.
21:22 🔗 alard I think the problem was that 2.6's XML/HTML parser is more critical than 2.7's, and that Punchfork occasionally sends HTML that is corrupted in a way that crashes 2.6.
21:23 🔗 alard The lxml parser backend doesn't have that problem.
21:23 🔗 ersi I installed lxml when i had that issue in 2.7.
21:23 🔗 ersi Worked fine.
21:23 🔗 alard You need the things that are listed here: https://github.com/ArchiveTeam/punchfork-grab/blob/master/warrior-install.sh
21:24 🔗 alard (python-lxml on Ubuntu/Debian and beautifulsoup4 + requests)
21:33 🔗 S[h]O[r]T finally im all set. full steam ahead or something...
21:33 🔗 Lord_Nigh now GAMESPY is going down? :(
21:33 🔗 Lord_Nigh argh
21:34 🔗 Lord_Nigh i used to for shits and giggles run the ancient 1998 era "QSPY" program (from before it was gamespy) and amazingly enough it would still work and happily talk to the gamespy servers
21:34 🔗 jk_ alard: think siliconvalleypark needs to be unblocked again. There was a problem with my standalone warrior setup
21:47 🔗 red_beard SketchCow: that list of amiga magazines from two days ago - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AnnY9d_DNDAjdEVZLVh3WExRY3pIVktyYlZ5SV9iWEE#gid=0
21:48 🔗 red_beard Holly wrote a script to grab a bunch of the info and then verified it
21:59 🔗 jk_ alard: thanks for the unblock. standalone setup is still hosed though. falling back to the warrior vm
21:59 🔗 jk_ ran into this error https://github.com/ArchiveTeam/seesaw-kit/issues/10
22:01 🔗 alard jk_: That should be better in new projects. (That is: the script will crash and give you a more meaningful error message.)
22:02 🔗 godane there looks to be alot more EGM magazine scans out there
22:02 🔗 godane i also found some missing gamepro issues
22:07 🔗 VonGuard hey godane
22:07 🔗 VonGuard i found 3 more episodes of gamepro
22:07 🔗 VonGuard will be online next week
22:36 🔗 godane VonGuard: cool
22:37 🔗 godane is this from the 1996 series?
22:41 🔗 VonGuard yeah
22:41 🔗 VonGuard episodes 4 5 6
22:42 🔗 godane cool
22:42 🔗 godane that helps make sure i don't have to get SketchCow to rename the older urls
22:57 🔗 balrog- https://twitter.com/footage/status/304725510368423937
22:57 🔗 balrog- 24 hours :(
23:18 🔗 S[h]O[r]T what site is shutting down?
23:18 🔗 S[h]O[r]T memolane?
23:19 🔗 S[h]O[r]T wow what an interesting site too.
