Well, my program no longer downloads duplicate newsgroup messages... although it still downloads all the headers to determine if they're duplicates or not in the first place... so that's half the bandwidth saved, at any rate |

omf_: initally, I was trying to grab monthly dumps of a mailing list, but they stopped making them. I subscribed to the mailing list and was going to use pine to do the dumping, but got frustrated trying to configure the thing, so wrote a python script to do it instead. |
