[00:58] "We noticed that your account [redacted] has less than three entries and hasn't been logged into in over two years. LiveJournal is deleting inactive empty accounts. Pursuant to our housekeeping policy, your LiveJournal account [redacted] is scheduled to be deleted in 15 days." [01:11] ivan`: oh wow [01:12] :( [01:13] so we need to archive LJ? [01:20] just those with less than 3 posts :) [01:21] should not take too much space :) [03:09] If we're going to do LiveJournal we might as well do all of it. [03:09] find some time where there's not too much going on and just archive all of it, save time later down the track when it invariably increases deletion policies [05:17] ivan`: [05:17] http://indiewebcamp.com/LiveJournal [05:17] http://www.livejournal.com/translate/editpage.bml?lang=fi&items=1%3A15535,1%3A15536,1%3A15537,1%3A15538,1%3A15540,1%3A15541,1%3A15543,1%3A15544,1%3A15546,1%3A15547 [05:17] https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/ucbanonconcopyfa07/N-TlrqSoRVg [05:17] looks like it has been around for a while [05:17] (the policy) [15:40] OK, curious thing: I downloaded a torrent from archive.org, and the md5 doesn't match and the file looks broken... I'm not entirely sure how that's possible. It's seeding perfectly happily, so must match the torrent's checksums. [15:42] Hey, happy 5th anniversary! ^.^ [16:17] Is it possible that the file got corrupted or only half copied across or something on archive.org itself? [16:20] ZoeB, try comparing the SHA1 instead [16:52] * ZoeB has a look [16:53] I'll be very surprised if this matches, as the MD5 didn't! [16:54] The file, incidentally, being MESS_0.149_CHD_megacd.zip. All the others I've seen look fine. [17:03] ZoeB: have you tried to verify local data in your bittorrent client? [17:06] I thought bittorrent inherently did that, otherwise it wouldn't say it's finished, it would re-download the chunks with the bad checksum? [17:06] (still calculating the sha1...) [17:15] Hmm, that doesn't match either, as expected. [17:16] Has anyone else managed to get this file OK? [17:32] ZoeB: how big is the item [17:38] 38GB... [17:53] ZoeB: then the torrent is probably corrupt and to be regenerated [17:54] you can tell Jason what's the identifier [17:56] OK, thanks. I'll tell him. This is for https://archive.org/details/MESS_0.149_CHD_megacd . [17:58] Thank you for your help, all three of you! ^.^ [20:36] Though in theory that had already been done https://catalogd.archive.org/log/286630754
