ola_norsk: Hi. I uploaded a video item a bit lazily, where the filename was just 'output.ts' .. Is there a way i can rename
that to something more sensible using either IA tool or web interface?
JAA: As I wrote in query, 'ia move' would probably work (and does a server-side copy + delete). I've never used it though, and maybe someone else knows more.
ola_norsk: or, would i need to rename the 'output.ts' file locally, delete the one in the item (and derivatives),
ok
JAA: damn, i never even noticed there was a 'move' command :D
JAA: 'ia move CountDankulaTV_Sky_interview_clip/output.ts CountDankulaTV_Sky_interview_clip/CountDankulaTV_Sky_interview_clip.ts' seems to have done it sucessfully
JAA: :-)
ola_norsk: also it seems to have to begun rederiving of it automaticaly
genious
JAA: Yeah, I suspected it would do that rather than moving the already derived files.
ola_norsk: at least i didn't have to rename them manually
or delete them
JAA: works like a charm! ty

ola_norsk: why is so many of these items failed? e,g https://archive.org/details/funny_or_die_video_b316dddf4e
"No files available."
it
sry..It pretty much seems to apply to all "funny or die"
e.g https://archive.org/details/funny_or_die_video_4c586a96e1
"no files available"
JAA: Generally, that means the files aren't available publically for legal reasons (i.e. the copyright holder asked IA not to distribute them).
See https://archive.org/download/funny_or_die_video_b316dddf4e, there are files in those items, but they're restricted.
ola_norsk: that's quite a mass of videos..the reason i'm asking is that i looked before uploading "Technoviking"
there's no way they can be all legal issues
JAA: There are certainly also other reasons, but I'd think that that's the most common one.
ola_norsk: each and everyone is broken, e.g https://archive.org/details/funny_or_die_video_402222e31c
JAA: Yeah, it's probably the entire collection.
ola_norsk: i don't know what "Funny or Die is" .. but then i'll upload Technoviking
JAA: https://archive.org/details/funnyordie&tab=about
ola_norsk: tldr
JAA: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funny_or_Die
ola_norsk: :D
what went wrong with it?
JAA: Doesn't look like anything went wrong with it.
ola_norsk: none of it works
JAA: IA stores a lot of stuff that is still available somewhere and might disappear sometime.
That's the whole purpose of an archive really.
ola_norsk: i'm putting the Technoviking in though..Sorry, but Can't have it go to any void by DMCA laws https://youtu.be/UjCdB5p2v0Y
3M does not own sticky
JAA: It's already there... https://archive.org/details/AllHailTechnoViking
