WhoWhatWhen
JohnTalenSDL.h is 'usuable' according to the script, but not 'present'. strange, all the other SDL options pass. but you have to remember this is all native until the make process starts.
usable rather
[00:00]
baioh, yeah for sdl you want to use emscripten's, definitely
https://github.com/kripken/emscripten/tree/master/system/include/SDL
[00:04]
JohnTalenah look at that.
i can use -s USE_SDL=1 right?
is USE_SDL just a macro like CC?
because I have export=USE_SDL=1 but it doesn't change anything.
it says: You will need to modify the build system to look for files in emscripten/system or emscripten/system/bin in order to use the Emscripten sdl-config.
[00:05]
okay so there is a system/bin/sdl-config to replace the native one. break. [00:21]
baisorry, yeah I think you want -s USE_SDL=1 to be included as both CFLAGS and LDFLAGS [00:27]
JohnTalenah ok! [00:28]
baithat'll tell emcc to set up the paths automatically, I believe [00:28]
JohnTalenhm, configure is breaking on the -s [00:31]
..... (idle for 22mn)
well, it is infact pointing to emscripten's include. but there is no SDL_keysym.h. it is safe to symlink them over?
this is all new to me. but I am learning.
got past that one. i should carry this into a script.
[00:53]
baiI want to say that SDL_keysym.h is from SDL2 and SDL1.x just defined the SDL_keysym struct in SDL_keyboard.h
ok
[00:55]
JohnTalenargh.
what to do what to do. keysym gives errors so that was not a good idea.
redefinitions.
indeed.
okay, so vice_sdl.h is looking for SDL/SDL_keysym.h. i had thought this was a 1.2 sdl project.
i mean I could whip up an sdl 2.0. but I have to know.
aparently SDL_keysym is in SDL-1.2.15.
hm nativethe one installed and the desired version are no different. why on Earth isn't there one in emscripten?
[00:55]
DFJustinaiui SDL 1.3 is the development branch that became 2.0, so 1.2 and 1.3 are not compatible [01:18]
baioh I see [01:20]
JohnTalenwow, got much frather.
farther
used this: https://pastebin.com/4uFmF0wi
DFJustin: thanks
hm, a memcpy without a <string.h> that is easy enough.
much much farther.
woohoo!
[01:23]
success. [01:36]
baigot it to build? [01:36]
JohnTalennot to go through the last sequence in accordance with vice.js
yes. to LLVM bitcode. including a non runnable executable. :)
thats *okay* though.
[01:36]
baihey, it's something :D [01:37]
JohnTalenThank you for the support bai!
time to rsync!
[01:40]
baiglad I could help, cool to see that project coming together [01:46]
JohnTalenyes. I"m thinking if it's easy enough to release a 1.2 version just to see if people want it but I definitely want to convert vice 3.1 over the sdl 2.0. [01:47]
........ (idle for 36mn)
SketchCowI'm back
And in CA this weekend!
[02:23]
baigah, I'm gonna be out of town this weekend, going camping with the wife up in Leggett [02:24]
..... (idle for 21mn)
JohnTalenSketchCow: try Old Town in San Diego if you get a chance. The food there is amazing.
ANd the gas lamp district is nice too. But Cali is one big place...so.
[02:45]
hm, symbol multiply defined again. i had thought this would go away.
here is my link process:
https://pastebin.com/DxBNZMEA
hm, some old cache. but a new multiply defined symbol. let's see.
hm, this looks like an actual instance. GREAT!
[02:59]
okay, progress. now is the funny one. 'main'.
i think i'm just going to read for the remainder of the day. Linux Kernels is a great book. At least I have a clear path to follow however short or long it may be!
[03:13]
...... (idle for 29mn)
adieu. [03:46]
