SketchCowDFJustin: https://archive.org/details/win3_HHMysTik
I tried win3_bloat but that seemed to think Quicktime was still not installed.
[17:05]
DFJustinwin3.1 quicktime is picky about which version you have [17:09]
SketchCowOK. So maybe it's a lost cause [17:10]
DFJustinmight be a path issue too
for me it fails to download game file 2 of 2
[17:12]
SketchCowOh, is it not bloat
One moment
(I whipped the name out)
Oops, -bloat
emularity_win31/win31-bloat.zip
Weeeird, it's failing even on incognito
OK, works now
Man, forget my cholesterol and blood pressure, it's this buffering that's shorted my life
[17:17]
bailooks like the download speed issues are fixed at least [17:22]
DFJustinkinda [17:23]
SketchCowKinda
Yeah, super kinda
OK, it works!!
[17:23]
baioh yeah, I see what you mean
I get a nice burst of 30 MB/s at the front, then it quickly throttles down to ~1.5 MB/s
[17:24]
SketchCowYes
And I think this is basically endemic in the router level.
I suspect there's some sort of thing built up in how we have things set with the ciscos. When he's not on fire I'll talk to our network guy about it.
[17:25]
baiyeah, it feels like either QoS gone wrong or a buffering issue [17:26]
SketchCowOk, the Hawaii thing is working - I'm now running the screenshotter. [17:27]
baisuch a catchy song, too [17:27]
SketchCowIt's way nicer than it needs to be
For Windows 3.1
[17:27]
baiyeah, no wonder it's a 65mb file though, that's probably a raw wav [17:27]
SketchCowWhat's your thought on the $199 Facebook Facehugger [17:29]
baigood hardware, great for the VR industry, but covered in that facebook slime [17:31]
SketchCowSo kind of like the cuecat [17:31]
baihaha
it's disturbing watching tcpdumps on my router if my internet connection is down. it turns into a battle between Google and Facebook to see who can get the most frantic about not being able to call home
just a constant stream of attempts to contact their servers when I'm nowhere near thier dumb software
[17:32]
SketchCowhttps://archive.org/details/win3_HHMysTik has a screenshot! [17:35]

.... (idle for 16mn)
SketchCowdb48x: Have you noticed every discussion I include you in with regards to emulation eventually ends with someone going 'Oh, hey, so how about the copyright'
And then the sound of wind
[18:28]
baiI'm sure johannes gutenberg gave all kinds of shit about people who constantly asked him "but aren't you worried that this technology could be used to grant people access to information that's currently wholly owned and controlled by the large institutions of our time, thus circumventing their means of control and opening up entirely new avenues of for expression and distribution of ideas?" [18:33]
SketchCowOh, I'm not sure
I mean, I get the joke/reference but he was always, ALWAYS a jobs/musk guy
Original Gutenberg bibles are basically Teslas
[18:41]
............ (idle for 59mn)
db48xSketchCow: I did notice that happen!
I thought about replying
