jrwrYa, Deployment is still to damn slow
and home routers are handling it very very badly
no default firewalls at all that would protect like NAT does
I know NAT is not a firewall, but it helped
also does UPnP even support ipv6
[18:58]
.... (idle for 18mn)
JensRexI don't think it's supposed to.
You're not supposed to NAT IPv6.
[19:16]
jrwrUPnP is not for natting really
its more of automated firewall control
well thats what its used for
[19:18]
JensRexReally. I always thought it was for poking holed in NAT. But I haven't really looked into it deeply. [19:20]
jrwrits just a API to control some things on the network like device discovery, but it really is mostly used for port forwarding in NAT tables, but the same can be used for punching holes in the firewall for the client [19:27]

JensRexFriendship with PyInstaller ended. /bin/rm is now my best friend.
Trying to build a new wpull binary with youtube-dl built in has not gone well.
[21:27]
......... (idle for 41mn)
JAAWhy do you need a "wpull binary"? [22:08]
.................... (idle for 1h35mn)
JensRexJAA: To replace the crappy one we're using now. [23:43]
JAAYeah, but why a binary instead of just installing the Python package and running it that way? [23:44]
JensRexBecause it requires python 3. Newsgrabber is using Python 2, beacuse reasons. I think that's why we're using a wpull binary now. [23:45]
JAAAh
There's the problem: "Newsgrabber is using Python 2".
[23:45]
JensRexYes. [23:45]
