KazIgloo / HCross2: Wonder how scammed I'm going to get? https://www.gumtree.com/p/server/hp-proliant-dl380-gen9/1280922553 [21:05]
HCross2I did actually find cheap UK colo with unlimited bandwidth.. [21:06]
KazI'm talking to the guy now.. he's only 10 miles away. Might see if I can pick up tonight..
he's claiming it's for a client that didn't end up using it, no idea what the hell's going on there
[21:07]
HCross2http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1689114&highlight=FDCServers [21:08]
Kaz$99/mo for unmetered power too
I'm not against filling this thing up with drives and chucking it in a DC
https://bgp.he.net/AS174
[21:10]
HCross2Yeah. FDCServers is pure Cogent
Cogent isn't the best... But it's cheap as hell
[21:12]
Kazwill be interesting to see what cpu/ram is in there, but really for £290 who cares.. [21:15]
HCross2Always room for expansion as well [21:16]
Kazit'll take up to 3TB of ram.. who needs NVMe drives anyway [21:17]
48gb in it [21:24]
HCross2Not too shabby [21:25]
Kazaaand he's okay with me picking it up.. right now [21:25]
HCross2I guess I'll speak to you in a bit :p [21:27]
........ (idle for 39mn)
KazI've got it. Driving home now [22:06]
....... (idle for 32mn)
okay I'm home. Forgot how much of a pain it was to bring huge boxes through the house [22:38]
HCross2hah, do you have to explain too
I remember bringing a 3D printer home one day
[22:39]
Kazeveryone's asleep apparently, I just dropped a message in the fam whatsapp and said I'm off to henlow, back in an hour or two [22:41]

[22:48]
jacketchaactually, a !specs command would be cool tool. thanks [22:49]
Kazjacketcha: that's unrelated, just for a box I've just picked up. Newsgrabber is run on tons of different machines, would be a pain to get inventory of all of them [22:52]
HCross2: other than all the drive caddies being blanks (not particularly unexpected), looks like this actually works.. [23:06]
....... (idle for 30mn)
