Seems to be sequential five-character lower-case alphanumeric, 301 on success, 302 to homepage on error. Example: http://gg.gg/4jkvk [19:29] And http://smarturlref.com/ . Very small shortener (28k URLs according to the homepage), sequential, up to three characters currently, alphanumeric (including upper and lower case), JavaScript redirect. There are examples on the homepage. [20:20] I also found http://many.at/ , which is not a normal URL shortener as it allows for entering a whole list of URLs. (There are several similar services by the same owner, name.ly: http://afewurls.com/ http://faturl.com/ http://urlbunch.com/ http://brief.ly/ http://links2.me/ (and more?). It seems that each page has its own database.) Is this also something we want to cover in this project? [20:24] that one would probably be best captured as a warc [20:31] *** JensRex has quit IRC (Remote host closed the connection) [20:31] *** JensRex has joined #urlteam [20:55] *** Smiley has quit IRC (Read error: Operation timed out) [21:04] *** Smiley has joined #urlteam [21:25] *** Jonison has quit IRC (Read error: Connection reset by peer) [21:30] Alright [21:31] I've looked at them a bit more in detail in the meantime. It seems that they all use non-sequential six-character 0-9a-z IDs, but I also found some IDs like "~MP0wT". However, I noticed they all have a /random.php (or similar) page which redirects to a random link list. That's probably a better way than trying to bruteforce the IDs, although it will very likely miss some links unless running essentially forev [21:31] er. [21:34] One additional problem is that their servers are extremely slow. On faturl.com, a single page load (including the random.php redirect) takes ~15 seconds currently. [21:52] This shortener doesn't seem to have been mentioned yet either: http://www.qoiob.com/ . Similar but unrelated (as far as I can tell) to tinyarrows.
