01:39 🔗 underscor That's... moving.
01:43 🔗 chronomex indeed
01:50 🔗 Aranje good comments too, damn

06:53 🔗 BlueMax lol
12:38 🔗 norbert79 joepie91: Around?
12:38 🔗 norbert79 joepie91: Just saw this in #batcave @ Vox
12:38 🔗 joepie91 ohai
12:38 🔗 norbert79 [13:34:51] <&renode> <MadHatter@Anonops> !INVITE M0X1
12:38 🔗 norbert79 [13:37:52] <&renode> <MadHatter@Anonops> join #python
12:39 🔗 norbert79 wtf
12:39 🔗 joepie91 ?
12:39 🔗 joepie91 what's weird about that>?
12:39 🔗 norbert79 they interconnect between anonops
12:39 🔗 joepie91 yes, relay bot
12:39 🔗 norbert79 and vox
12:39 🔗 norbert79 yeah
12:39 🔗 norbert79 is Vox this desperate?
12:39 🔗 joepie91 nah, there have been relay bots for a while
12:39 🔗 norbert79 ah
12:39 🔗 joepie91 one of them, u, is also on cryto
12:39 🔗 norbert79 Yeah
12:39 🔗 joepie91 interconnects with a bunch of clearnet networks (including cryto), irc2p, and anonet
12:40 🔗 norbert79 I see
12:40 🔗 norbert79 so it's not because of the recent changes then
12:40 🔗 joepie91 probably not
12:40 🔗 joepie91 also, u is a fucking awesome bot
12:40 🔗 norbert79 I see
12:40 🔗 joepie91 possibly the best relay bot I've ever seen
12:40 🔗 norbert79 Well, I have a minimal eggdrop with some nice tools
12:40 🔗 joepie91 non-obtrusive network/name prefixes etc
12:40 🔗 norbert79 but nothing extraordinary
12:40 🔗 joepie91 :P
12:40 🔗 joepie91 idk, u is just pleasant to read
12:40 🔗 norbert79 What does it do?
12:40 🔗 norbert79 I see
12:41 🔗 norbert79 I don't know 'u' I was curious
12:41 🔗 norbert79 gives ideas what I could implement
12:41 🔗 joepie91 norbert79: http://owely.com/11ovzmO
12:41 🔗 joepie91 look at the way it displays the user and the network
12:42 🔗 joepie91 (and yeah, I need to clean up tabs, I know)
12:42 🔗 norbert79 Holy sss... is that your IRC client? :D
12:42 🔗 joepie91 ya
12:42 🔗 norbert79 holy yeah :D
12:42 🔗 joepie91 it's quite suitable for "power users"
12:42 🔗 joepie91 :P
12:42 🔗 joepie91 but yeah, u's text basically reads as if it's just another user talking
12:42 🔗 joepie91 you don't have to look twice to determine who's talking
12:42 🔗 norbert79 Neat
12:43 🔗 joepie91 like with renode
12:43 🔗 joepie91 much more pleasant this way
12:43 🔗 joepie91 also, let me show you something cool in this IRC client, sec :P
12:43 🔗 norbert79 Sure
12:44 🔗 joepie91 norbert79: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJgrrp367wo
12:45 🔗 joepie91 (that's on irc2p, that's why it takes so long for it to actually try and kick someone)
12:45 🔗 norbert79 Selective autotab-autocomplete
12:45 🔗 chronomex what's irc2p?
12:45 🔗 joepie91 the main IRC network on i2p
12:45 🔗 joepie91 http://i2p2.de/
12:45 🔗 joepie91 a darknet of sorts
12:45 🔗 chronomex ah
12:45 🔗 joepie91 norbert79: pretty much
12:45 🔗 joepie91 and it has autocomplete specific to functionality
12:46 🔗 joepie91 so it will have channels, users, or both in the list depending on what kind of command it is
12:46 🔗 joepie91 and if you do for example /ctcp
12:46 🔗 joepie91 it will list version, ping, finger, time
12:46 🔗 joepie91 it effectively autocompletes everything
12:46 🔗 joepie91 it's quite awesome.
12:46 🔗 norbert79 joepie91: I think irssi works the same way
12:46 🔗 joepie91 irssi doesn't have an IDE-like autocomplete popup :)
12:46 🔗 norbert79 let me check
12:46 🔗 joepie91 which makes a massive difference imo
12:46 🔗 norbert79 that? No, of course :)
12:47 🔗 joepie91 I feel almost blind when using xchat or similar clients
12:47 🔗 chronomex pfff, intellisense for irc is a stupid idea
12:47 🔗 norbert79 but I prefer no selection list, it would, I don't know, disturb me :)
12:47 🔗 joepie91 "how many more times do I have to hit tab to get the right nick"
12:47 🔗 chronomex so you type enough to make it unique :P
12:47 🔗 norbert79 joe->TAB->Done :))
12:47 🔗 chronomex ^
12:47 🔗 joepie91 norbert79: try that in #lowendbox
12:47 🔗 joepie91 on freenode
12:47 🔗 norbert79 lol, let me see
12:47 🔗 joepie91 you'll always higlight JoeMerit
12:47 🔗 joepie91 lol
12:48 🔗 joepie91 people frequently make this mistake
12:48 🔗 chronomex irssi orders the list by most-recently-spoke
12:48 🔗 ersi Hmmm, wonder if that's *the* MadHatter that *I* know
12:48 🔗 joepie91 the problem is that it isn't always clear how many chars you have to type to have the right nick
12:48 🔗 joepie91 and it's easier to just joe<tab><tab>
12:48 🔗 norbert79 Not so serious there either
12:48 🔗 joepie91 chronomex: both JoeMerit and I talk a lot
12:48 🔗 norbert79 it's managebale
12:48 🔗 norbert79 ah, right
12:48 🔗 chronomex ok
12:48 🔗 chronomex whatever
12:48 🔗 norbert79 joem :)
12:48 🔗 chronomex you use your client, I use mine
12:48 🔗 chronomex problem solved!
12:48 🔗 joepie91 heh indeed
12:49 🔗 norbert79 I am interested though in other methods, I like to discuss about what's in for me
12:49 🔗 joepie91 anwyay, a more important feature of nettalk imo, is multitab
12:49 🔗 joepie91 er
12:49 🔗 joepie91 multiline tab
12:49 🔗 norbert79 Yes, that looks nice
12:49 🔗 chronomex I misread multitab as matlab somehow
12:49 🔗 joepie91 xchat simply will not do multiple lines of tabs
12:49 🔗 joepie91 which is a giant pain if you want to keep an eye on a lot of channels
12:49 🔗 chronomex I suppose that's from it being almost 5am
12:49 🔗 joepie91 haha chronomex
12:49 🔗 norbert79 chronomex: Hah, CET time for us :)
12:49 🔗 chronomex and not having my glasses on
12:50 🔗 chronomex what time of day is CET right now?
12:50 🔗 norbert79 almost 2pm
12:50 🔗 chronomex hmm
12:50 🔗 ersi Thu Dec 6 13:50:15 CET 2012
12:50 🔗 joepie91 but yeah, the main reasons I use nettalk are probably the multiline tabs, IDE-like autocompletion, highlights/PMs in the status bar, and the awesomely simple network management (including auto-reconnect and auto-rejoin and automatically remembering all networks and channels etc)
12:50 🔗 joepie91 and also the fast-scroll thingie
12:50 🔗 ersi meh, irssi ftw
12:50 🔗 joepie91 keep middle mouse button pressed, move mouse up, extremely fast scrolling
12:50 🔗 norbert79 irssi is nice indeed, though yes, autotab-selection list is nice too
12:50 🔗 joepie91 very useful to read back large backlogs
12:51 🔗 joepie91 (especially when you can do speedreading)
12:51 🔗 norbert79 irc or ircII for the win! :P
12:51 🔗 norbert79 boy I used ircII a lot back in 1999
12:51 🔗 joepie91 never used those :P
12:51 🔗 norbert79 ircII is the predecessor of irssi
12:52 🔗 norbert79 lacks window handling in default, or is harder to make it work
12:52 🔗 joepie91 I see
12:52 🔗 joepie91 I don't like irssi :(
12:52 🔗 joepie91 if on terminal, weechat
12:52 🔗 chronomex weechat is pretty spiffy
12:52 🔗 norbert79 what's wrong with irssi which you don't like in it?
12:52 🔗 joepie91 out of the box, it's a very cumbersome client
12:52 🔗 joepie91 no nick list or anything, the commands are a bit odd (can't recall which ones in particular)
12:53 🔗 joepie91 and I don't want to spend a gazillion years on customizing it when I have weechat which does it out of the box
12:53 🔗 norbert79 well, /w works nice, normally I don't look for the nicklists often
12:53 🔗 joepie91 I do :P
12:53 🔗 chronomex /names ;)
12:53 🔗 norbert79 well, customizing was easy for me, but yeah, it took a bit to finish the config file
12:53 🔗 norbert79 or that, but I prefer /w :)
12:53 🔗 norbert79 shorter
12:53 🔗 joepie91 anyway, if I have a graphical interface, always nettalk
12:54 🔗 joepie91 hell, I actually run it through WINE
12:54 🔗 joepie91 (and yes, that works beautifully)
12:54 🔗 norbert79 I used to use Wine a lot, still doing it
12:54 🔗 norbert79 but I prefer binary for the OS, where possible
12:55 🔗 joepie91 the only catch of running nettalk via WINE is that changing the icon for a tab makes the IRC client lag for a tiny bit... if you have a lot of highlights/PMs at once, that makes it hard to use
12:55 🔗 joepie91 but that appears to be a bug in WINE
12:55 🔗 joepie91 since the problem doesn't exist on Windows
12:55 🔗 joepie91 yes
12:55 🔗 joepie91 I was actually working on writing my own IRC client
12:55 🔗 joepie91 mostly based off how Nettalk works
12:55 🔗 joepie91 but in Python
12:55 🔗 joepie91 (Nettalk is, believe it or not, written in VB6)
12:58 🔗 ersi Not all that strange, considering it's a program, made ages ago, primarily to run on Windows.
13:00 🔗 norbert79 ytalk for the win :)
13:03 🔗 joepie91 goddamn fucking youtube
13:03 🔗 joepie91 http://owely.com/7AvXZE
13:03 🔗 joepie91 seriously
13:03 🔗 joepie91 STOP BLOCKING THAT FUCKING VIDEO
13:04 🔗 joepie91 this is the 3rd damn dispute I have to open
13:04 🔗 chronomex on what grounds are they blocking it?
13:04 🔗 joepie91 copyright, of course
13:04 🔗 chronomex legitimately?
13:04 🔗 norbert79 what happened in the Netherlands?
13:04 🔗 joepie91 no
13:05 🔗 norbert79 Traffic accident?
13:05 🔗 joepie91 the original video is owned by the NOS
13:05 🔗 joepie91 dutch PBS
13:05 🔗 joepie91 I subtitled it back then
13:05 🔗 joepie91 and uploaded it
13:05 🔗 joepie91 because there were no english videos
13:05 🔗 joepie91 and people were wondering wtf was going on
13:05 🔗 joepie91 since then, 3 foreign news agencies have tried to block it
13:05 🔗 chronomex wtf
13:05 🔗 joepie91 completely fucking ridiculous
13:05 🔗 chronomex indeed
13:06 🔗 joepie91 norbert79: alleged "attack" on queensday a few years ago
13:06 🔗 joepie91 anyway, sent in my third goddamn dispute
13:06 🔗 joepie91 I'm getting so sick of this fingerprinting bullshit
13:06 🔗 joepie91 "woo it has subs and it's about the queensday incident, THAT MUST BE OURS"
13:07 🔗 chronomex oooo mine
13:08 🔗 * joepie91 is pissed
15:18 🔗 DFJustin joepie91: throw it on archive.org
15:22 🔗 joepie91 DFJustin: I don't have the original anymore
15:22 🔗 DFJustin youtube now lets you download your own originals back
15:22 🔗 joepie91 not if they're blocked for copyright.
15:23 🔗 DFJustin yeah probably :/
15:23 🔗 SketchCow He said, this this mitigated it.
15:23 🔗 SketchCow Allowing downloads of originals is a big deal.
15:23 🔗 SketchCow and a nice change.
15:23 🔗 SketchCow I wonder how the 4k videos are doing.
15:23 🔗 DFJustin but for future reference: http://dataliberation.blogspot.com/2012/09/your-youtube-original-videos-now.html
15:24 🔗 SketchCow http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5BF9E09ECEC8F88F
15:24 🔗 SketchCow They're doing fiiiiine
16:03 🔗 Schbirid are those complete or random http://archive.org/details/twitterstream ?
16:05 🔗 SketchCow Explain complete or random in that context.
16:05 🔗 SketchCow They're all I currently have in the hopper.
16:05 🔗 SketchCow They were extracted with basic developer tools by swebb.
16:05 🔗 SketchCow So they're not complete like "every tweet that month"
16:05 🔗 Schbirid i mean if it contains all tweets from that period or a subset
16:05 🔗 Schbirid aye
16:05 🔗 Schbirid cheers
16:45 🔗 swebb Schbirid: Those tweets are form the 'spritzer' feed that Twitter provides for free. It's like 2% of all tweets.
16:46 🔗 swebb BTW, according to their terms of service, they don't want anyone redistributing tweets in full.
16:46 🔗 SketchCow Yeah.
16:46 🔗 SketchCow Fuuuuuuuuucker
16:47 🔗 swebb Yea, the twitter TOS are pretty strict about the data.
16:47 🔗 Schbirid ah, i see
16:47 🔗 swebb However, I'm continuing to collect the tweets so when they do change their TOS or they go out of business, I still have the data.
17:05 🔗 balrog_ isn't the LoC getting all of Twitter's public stream?
17:05 🔗 ersi Supposedly
17:06 🔗 SketchCow They are.
17:06 🔗 SketchCow I've talked with them.
17:06 🔗 SketchCow If you go down there, you can look at it.
17:06 🔗 SketchCow But not online.
17:12 🔗 swebb The LoC is getting the firehouse and all historical tweets since the first tweet.
17:12 🔗 swebb firehose, not firehouse.
17:14 🔗 SketchCow FIREHOUSE
17:15 🔗 ersi That's us.
18:23 🔗 SketchCow http://www.failclipz.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/TVshow.gif
21:28 🔗 chronomex what is this I don't even
21:28 🔗 ersi haha, wat
21:50 🔗 BlueMax I'm BlueMax, thought you knew me chronomex
21:50 🔗 chronomex ?
21:51 🔗 chronomex I know you just fine
21:52 🔗 ersi BlueMax: http://www.failclipz.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/TVshow.gif
21:52 🔗 ersi Oh, it makes perfect sense to me now.
21:52 🔗 BlueMax oh I didn't see that
21:53 🔗 ersi I see SketchCow anticipated this situation and provided the gif in advance
21:57 🔗 chronomex hahaha
21:59 🔗 ersi that's the only logical conclusion available
22:00 🔗 BlueMax he does like to make me look the fool
22:00 🔗 ersi especially in advance
22:04 🔗 BlueMax the sneaky devil
22:19 🔗 joepie91 https://twitter.com/joepie91/status/276812498936688640
22:20 🔗 ersi Holy cow, a post form the future!
22:20 🔗 ersi Also, why didn't you just link to the link instead of twitter :(
