[02:02] i'm grabbing a radio archive website that has tons of pdfs [02:51] looks like some of the earlier gonintendo podcasts was uploaded to IA [02:51] i'm going to reupload them since this is going to be used as a collection [04:38] looks like those lost episodes of doctor who was found: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-24448063 [04:49] i highly doubt they found all 106 missing episodes [04:49] probably found 6-12 of them in someone's film collection [04:49] still a nice find regardless [04:49] yes [08:16] ok word of warning: if anyone here has an original xbox, regardless of its age, if it uses a cooperbussman 2.5v 1F PowerStor Aerogel cap (on xbox1.0 and 1.1 this is at c7g10 toward the lower left of the board along the bottom edge) REMOVE IT FROM THE BOARD. my xbox 1.1 it was already leaking, and it will eventually short stuff or eat things off the board (this may be relevant here if anyone has an xbox they want to recover [08:16] stuff from for archiving) [08:17] I got 3 xboxes I need to check now :/ [08:18] you need a torx t20 and a t15 to open the xbox [08:18] iirc [08:18] t20 to open the case, t15 to get the hdd and dvd drives out of the way of the mainboard [08:20] SHIT NO. [08:20] t15 to open the case, t10 to get the drives out of the way [08:20] t20 is way too big [08:20] sorry [08:21] omf_: ^ [08:22] No worries, I got a whole toolset and I have taken my xbox apart before. I added a mod chip [08:22] actually I like taking apart non-working consoles [08:33] i believe this affects all original xbox versions [09:05] the only thing that capacitor does is power the rtc for between 6 and 48 hours while the console is turned off (which was imho a really stupid design decision by microsoft; the rtc is not powered by the psu standby at all) [09:05] rtc = real time clock, i.e. the console date/time/year etc [09:26] Good day... Wanted to download ftp://ftp.mpoli.fi as it has lots of different old applications and other information about old hardware too... I had to stop it at 30 GiB, as having limited harddisk space... [09:26] Could someone please help out? [09:28] norbert79, for an ftp dump SketchCow is your man [09:29] and it has files going back to 1994 [09:29] I think it has a http side too... Hmm, thanks though [09:29] Yep [09:29] that's why [09:29] :D ;D :D [09:29] I found it when I was looking for some Windows based QWK reader [09:29] BBS QWK (forum dumps) [09:30] How can I ask SketchCow kindly to get this into his queue? :) [09:31] As I would be really grateful if it would be saved [09:32] He is like candyman. You say his name a bunch of times and when you least expect it he shows up archives all your shit. [09:32] Ooh, like Beetleguise [09:32] I get it :) [09:32] yes [09:33] SketchCow: Hey... May I ask you kindly to secure ftp://ftp.mpoli.fi for me? It has some nice load of old software and info on old hardware too... [09:33] SketchCow: Limited HDD space for me, no-go for my HDD :) [09:34] SketchCow: It is above 29 GiB big, as my HDD got full at that point :) [09:36] http://archive.org/details/files.mpoli.fi.2013.04 [09:37] fucking super powers [09:37] see he already got it back in time :D [09:37] From April, nice [09:38] hopefully it hasn't changed since [09:38] Thanks :_) [09:38] How big was it when extracted? [09:38] 10.7 GiB compressed... [09:39] weird, it says 16 GiB tarred [09:39] are you sure it's a full dump? [09:39] My dump was 29 GiB unfinished [09:43] hmm it may not be complete then [09:44] or your dump may be hitting directory loops [09:44] Not really [09:44] At least I wasn't aware of any when checked [09:47] hmm [09:48] Of course I would need to dump the whole thing and compare the filelists, but the problem is with my HDD space :) [10:49] looks like i'm finding tons of stuff from the 1940s radio from the site i'm grabbing [11:02] i decide this will be saved as a big zip file instead of in warc format [11:03] this mostly so i can mirror the glenn beck show from yesterday [12:20] SketchCow: thanks for fixing episode 36 of tekzilla daily [14:20] norbert79: you can get the file listing from archive.org like so: https://archive.org/download/files.mpoli.fi.2013.04/files.mpoli.fi.2013.04.zip/ [14:21] ...or rather, you should be able to, but it's blank :| [18:11] godane: It was a slip by my guy [18:43] SketchCow: i got the rev3_best_of collection in godaneinbox [19:05] Excellent. [19:11] that inbox should be called godaaaaang [19:14] SketchCow: you also going to be getting a big zip of pdf from www.otrr.org/FILES/Magz_pdf/ [19:14] it has tons of pdfs about radios in there [19:15] there is also a script one that will archive too [19:21] turns out i missed 418 of best of collection [19:22] sometimes i have to block descriptions cause there is a end line in it [19:22] i have only really noticed this problem that much is in best of collection so far [19:33] ha [19:33] so I've been trying to figure out why this Box2D application of mine is fucking out [19:34] turns out I was interpreting frequency as period :( [19:34] in the timestep [19:34] that'll fuck up a lot of stuff [19:35] i'm starting to upload rev3 sony collection [19:35] its called sony but i think i need to call it Rev3_Sony_# to make it more clear what it is [19:55] Oh, neat. You're downloading these PDFs and putting them up? [20:11] my plan is more puting them in a big zip and uploading it [20:11] i may put up collections of some of ones that have good scans [20:12] some have really bad scans but there will be in the zip so it will be backup [20:13] i'm uploading a rev3-sony collection [20:14] there is going to be a rev3-sony, a rev3-sonyproducts, and a rev3-sgnlbysony collection [21:02] looks like some of the stuff in the revision3.com/sonyproducts may have some of the same video as rev3-sony collection i'm making right now [21:02] based on file size there not the same in checksum so they will be uploaded [22:20] What's the best bookmark sorting tool/dupe finder? or do ya'll recommend manual sorting for the most part. I've got about 1000 bookmarks since '04 I need to clean up. [22:22] Errr.. Plus I need to organize all my files on all hard drives. Desktop on iMac is a mess. And my Google Drive is a wreck since they haven't fixed a crucial bug that I and many others are having. When you disconnect your G Drive the wrong way It won't let you use the same folder so when you choose a different folder it makes dupes of every file on your Google [22:24] Account. I had to clean it up before and it was a pain. Now Google Drive program is completely disconnected and I'm saving all my files in the local G Drive folder without syncing. The official support? forum/group has not been helpful in resolving this problem to myself and others. Problem been for longer than a year. [22:26] Luckily I have not paid anything for my storage. I got 100 GB for two years from my Google I/O i5 Chromebox and 10 extra GB for using QuickOffice on Android. Anyway.. End of rant. :) [22:55] http://themetapicture.com/media/funny-troll-brain-meme.jpg [22:55] * joepie91 has no idea about bookmark stuff [23:10] godfuckingdamnit [23:10] another posterous link [23:11] stupid bitrot [23:11] er, linkrot [23:36] just know that Rev3_Sony jumps from 58 to 301
