i have clue why blackcats games is cause the 400 bad request error |
03:14
๐
|
godane |
its cause of topicesread= cookie |
03:14
๐
|
godane |
it gets very big |
03:14
๐
|
godane |
and thing causes 400 bad request cause of it |
03:21
๐
|
godane |
i still need help guys |
03:21
๐
|
godane |
i need to know how to stop topicsread= cookies from getting big |
03:43
๐
|
godane |
can ANY one help me with my problem? |
03:43
๐
|
godane |
i know what it is but i have not clue how to stop it |
03:44
๐
|
chavezery |
blackcat games is a torrent site, right? |
03:46
๐
|
kyan |
godane, (assuming you're using wget) I know nothing about the architecture of wget but I think it stores cookies in a cookies.txt file, maybe (if thats where it gets them from while crawling, and doesn't just store them in memory) you could use another strypt to dynamically rewrite that file as it is updated, truncating the problematic cookie |
03:47
๐
|
kyan |
just an idea, no idea if it would work |
03:47
๐
|
kyan |
alternatively there might be some way to set specific cookies manually for the duration of the crawl (?) |
03:49
๐
|
ivan` |
godane: launch one wget per URL and cat the WARCs together later? |
03:50
๐
|
godane |
ivan`: wouldn't that cause problems? |
03:51
๐
|
yipdw |
WARC concatenation is well-defined |
03:51
๐
|
yipdw |
you shouldn't run into any problems doing that |
03:51
๐
|
yipdw |
and if you do, then you'll just end up with a bunch of WARCs |
04:00
๐
|
godane |
so now its doing the warc per a topic id |
04:02
๐
|
godane |
it still grabs the pages within the topic id |
06:02
๐
|
godane |
so i got the first 1000 topic ids so far |
06:44
๐
|
godane |
warc-proxy really needs support for ssh |
06:45
๐
|
godane |
and i mean the one to view warc with ssh urls |
06:47
๐
|
yipdw |
uh |
06:47
๐
|
yipdw |
SSH URLs don't actually do anything on most systems |
06:47
๐
|
yipdw |
do you mean SSL? |
06:47
๐
|
yipdw |
if so, HTTPS capture is a very thorny problem |
06:48
๐
|
yipdw |
you're trying to do exactly what HTTPS is designed to prevent |
06:48
๐
|
yipdw |
that said, odie5533 did make a WarcMITMProxy that you can try |
07:43
๐
|
godane |
i'm not talking about capture |
07:43
๐
|
godane |
i'm talking about warc-proxy viewer |
08:22
๐
|
joepie91 |
<yipdw>if so, HTTPS capture is a very thorny problem |
08:22
๐
|
joepie91 |
not really, when done locall |
08:22
๐
|
joepie91 |
SSL is designed to prevent against on-the-wire MITM |
08:22
๐
|
joepie91 |
not on-the-host MITM |
08:23
๐
|
joepie91 |
you can just generate your own root CA |
08:23
๐
|
joepie91 |
add that to the trusted CA store on your system |
08:23
๐
|
joepie91 |
and sign a fresh cert for each domain you try to access |
08:23
๐
|
yipdw |
you can, and doing that is a pain in the ss |
08:23
๐
|
yipdw |
ass |
08:23
๐
|
joepie91 |
it shouldn't be hard to automate :P |
08:23
๐
|
yipdw |
it is if you're using e.g. Firefox |
08:23
๐
|
joepie91 |
? |
08:23
๐
|
yipdw |
which has its own trust store |
08:23
๐
|
yipdw |
the same applies to other applications |
08:23
๐
|
joepie91 |
afaik there's a flag to make Firefox use the system store |
08:23
๐
|
yipdw |
what flag is that |
08:24
๐
|
joepie91 |
no idea, but I've run across a mention of it once |
08:24
๐
|
joepie91 |
not sure if it ever made it into stable |
08:24
๐
|
yipdw |
well, then you need to make the appropriate profile modifications to automate it |
08:24
๐
|
yipdw |
but that's what I'm getting at :P |
08:24
๐
|
yipdw |
it's a pain in the ass |
08:24
๐
|
yipdw |
thorny |
08:24
๐
|
joepie91 |
meh |
08:24
๐
|
joepie91 |
it's a solve-once problem |
08:24
๐
|
joepie91 |
for me, all solve-once problems are in the category "meh, doable" |
08:25
๐
|
joepie91 |
:P |
08:25
๐
|
joepie91 |
can still require a bunch of time |
08:25
๐
|
joepie91 |
but they're never quite as frustrating or tricky as host-specific issues |
08:25
๐
|
yipdw |
other solve-once problems include fixing the fundamental problem with CAs |
08:25
๐
|
yipdw |
just saying :P |
08:25
๐
|
joepie91 |
not quite, actually |
08:25
๐
|
joepie91 |
the problem with the CA trust model (and a replacement for it), is one of varying environments |
08:26
๐
|
joepie91 |
tech-savvy users, non-tech-savvy users |
08:26
๐
|
joepie91 |
different platforms that deal with SSL differently |
08:26
๐
|
joepie91 |
and so on |
08:26
๐
|
joepie91 |
there are far more variables |
08:26
๐
|
yipdw |
sure, but you can fix those by just throwing away SSL and replacing it with something else |
08:26
๐
|
yipdw |
say, CurveCP and some unknown key distribution authority |
08:27
๐
|
yipdw |
find the right solution to the unknown and you're fine :P |
08:27
๐
|
joepie91 |
unrelated, chinese download store has been removed from evasion jailbreak |
08:27
๐
|
joepie91 |
we haz a copy |
08:27
๐
|
joepie91 |
and no |
08:27
๐
|
joepie91 |
<yipdw>say, CurveCP and some unknown key distribution authority |
08:27
๐
|
joepie91 |
the "key distribution authority" is the problem, not the solution |
08:28
๐
|
yipdw |
yeah, so solve that :P |
08:29
๐
|
yipdw |
that aside |
08:31
๐
|
godane |
i'm past the first 3000 showtopic ids of blackcat-games |
08:32
๐
|
godane |
even though i couldn't view the warc |
08:32
๐
|
godane |
warc-proxy was able to read the 1-to-1000 showtopic warc i made with my 1000 warcs cat together |
08:33
๐
|
godane |
also i'm making sure to make a zip file of the 1000 warcs so we have the originals just in case there need |
08:34
๐
|
godane |
i did have to change my accept regex to have the showtopic=${i} in to |
08:34
๐
|
godane |
*in it |
08:34
๐
|
godane |
that way i was not grabbing showtopic 59 cause 1002 had a link to one of the pages |

๐

at what you are trying to do maybe |
15:55
๐
|
joepie91 |
with how the window dragging is entirely off and it moves at 3-4 times (exponentially increasing) the speed of my mouse cursor? |
15:55
๐
|
joepie91 |
making it impossible to properly position it? |
15:55
๐
|
joepie91 |
or how it asks you to install updates and then abruptly quits without warning you, aborting your downloads? |
15:55
๐
|
joepie91 |
or how captcha windows -steal focus- unexpectedly? |
15:56
๐
|
joepie91 |
or how it keeps trying every 10 minutes despite having told it to stop? |
15:56
๐
|
Schbirid |
no window movement problems here, check your wm, graphics drivers etc |
15:56
๐
|
joepie91 |
(and throws captchas every 10 minutes) |
15:56
๐
|
Schbirid |
updates -> quitting is stupid, yeah |
15:56
๐
|
Schbirid |
captchas dont steal on xfce (with no focus to new windows) for me |
15:56
๐
|
Schbirid |
dunno about checking, stopping worked fine for me |
15:57
๐
|
joepie91 |
or how it stacks modals, so that the bottom one is a 20s timer "do you want to accept the TOS? no response = abbrt", and the top window is a modal with 4 paragraphs about how I should get a premium account and how it won't let me focus on the timer window? |
15:57
๐
|
joepie91 |
thus making me decide about the 4 paragraphs in 20 seconds OR have it auto-abort a download? |
15:57
๐
|
joepie91 |
using up a download ticket? |
15:57
๐
|
joepie91 |
or how I copy URLs from the existing jobs properties |
15:57
๐

joepie91 |
to paste into freerapid |
15:57

joepie91 |

15:57
๐

joepie91 |
EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE ALREADY IN THE LIST |

15:58
๐

joepie91 |

and it's why that issue only exists for as long as JDownloader is running |
16:09
๐
|
joepie91 |
newsflash: these aren't "system issues" |
16:09
๐
|
joepie91 |
they ONLY occur when jdownloader is running |
16:09
๐
|
joepie91 |
just like the dragging issue |
16:09
๐
|
joepie91 |
ONLY happens for jdownloader |
16:09
๐
|
Schbirid |
honestly, bug report that |
16:10
๐
|
Schbirid |
or decide not to care |
16:10
๐
|
joepie91 |
Schbirid: it's honestly not worth my time to write up a fancy and polite bug report |
16:10
๐
|
joepie91 |
and it would probably be unwise to copypaste the conversation here into a bug ticket |
16:10
๐
|
Schbirid |
you ranted for 20 minutes here, surely you could have written a ticket instead :P |
16:10
๐
|
joepie91 |
there's so much wrong with JDownloader, I'm just going to wait for this download to finish |
16:10
๐
|
joepie91 |
... |
16:10
๐
|
joepie91 |
Schbirid: okay |
16:10
๐
|
Schbirid |
(god, i hate bug trackers... especially when they require an account) |
16:10
๐
|
joepie91 |
two things |
16:11
๐
|
joepie91 |
1. I am venting here |
16:11
๐
|
joepie91 |
I cannot vent in a ticket |
16:11
๐
|
joepie91 |
if I wrote a ticket, I would still be venting here |
16:11
๐
|
joepie91 |
writing a ticket does not save me time |
16:11
๐
|
joepie91 |
2. do you think I can write a nicely worded bugticket when I'm this frustrated? |
16:19
๐
|
DFJustin |
honestly people who are brain dead enough to write software like that are not going to suddenly become clueful just because they get a bug report |

I think it was unnecessary for you to post it in here, then |

nico_32_: any chance you could bring a plextor drive to 30c3? i have a rare cd for a limited time and my drives are not sufficient for a redump quality dump |
