Long story short: I'm trying to make a DEFINITIVE set of the coordinates for all of the herhsey glyphs, including the surviving ones from the 1969 paper (missing the cuneiform glyphs (I think?) and many oddball symbols), MAYBE figure out the 'original metrics' for the lost simplex script glyphs from the 1967 paper, and incldue all the 48 added glyphs without metrics given from the NBS/NTIS Wolcott & Hilsenrath |

there (were?) apparently two incompatible forks of proj 4.3.3: PROJ.4 (which still exists) and 'libproj' which was part of GRASS and other utilities, though looking at the GRASS homepage now it seems this divergence has since been rectified and GRASS directly uses PROJ.4 nowadays |

that email and thread back in 2004 had people griping that proj.4 couldn't do datum transformation, but it sounds like now 15 years later datum transformation is one of proj.4's most powerful features |
