We should compile a list of webcams in locations that are around where the solar eclipse will be viewable and then record them all around the time of the solar eclipse. [18:45] I have seen the line in INSTALL.pipeline mentioning maybe having to do "ln -s /usr/bin/wpull /home/archivebot/ArchiveBot/pipeline/wpull", but I can see no way that is going to help. It puts a "wpull" symlink in the wpull directory to a non-existing /usr/bin/wpull. [18:51] That probably assumes that you somehow installed wpull system-wide. [18:52] If you used pip install --user wpull, you'll have to use ~/.local/bin/wpull instead. [18:52] If not, *shrug*. [18:54] So the "ln -s /usr/bin/wpull /home/archivebot/ArchiveBot/pipeline/wpull" in the guide might be reversed and assuming a system wpull. Sounds resonable, I'll have a look. [19:05] Looks like the guide does use pip install --user. Do you have a file /home/archivebot/.local/bin/wpull? [19:06] JAA: Yes, I'm fiddling with PATH to try and get it to pick it up now [19:11] So, the problem is that the pipeline is throwing away the PATH somewhere. Adding wpull to the path does nothing, but symlinking it to usr/bin worked. Hmm. [19:13] you could add .local/bin to the PATH within the script [19:14] schbirid: Probably, somewhere. But doing export PATH=$PATH:$HOME/.local/bin does not work. [19:15] works for me :O [19:16] https://hastebin.com/hicuxudota.lua [19:16] Well... That's funny. [19:17] Yes, that works obviously. What I'm saying is that it does not work with ArchiveBot/pipepike. When it gets to the seesaw it's no longer in the path. [19:18] ah :( [19:27] Strange. seesaw.util.find_executable searches for both 'wpull' and './wpull'. The former simply tries to execute the command 'wpull' through subprocess, which *should* respect PATH. [19:29] Relevant code: https://github.com/ArchiveTeam/ArchiveBot/blob/master/pipeline/pipeline.py#L36 and https://github.com/ArchiveTeam/seesaw-kit/blob/master/seesaw/util.py [19:29] Yes, that code in itself should be no problem. It must reset the PATH somewhere before getting there. [19:30] pipeline is running with the workaround now, so I'll just document it and not dig more in it for today [19:31] Maybe try setting it in ~/.profile. [19:33] setting path within a script keeps it within its scope [20:22] *** davidar has quit IRC (Quit: Connection closed for inactivity) [21:03] *** Asparagir has quit IRC (Asparagir) [21:29] *** Asparagir has joined #archiveteam-bs [22:30] *** drumstick has joined #archiveteam-bs [22:34] *** j08nY has quit IRC (Quit: Leaving) [22:42] *** dashcloud has joined #archiveteam-bs [23:18] *** BlueMaxim has joined #archiveteam-bs
