w0rmhole: I'd explain shortly what ArchiveBot is and that we realised we were going at a too high rate and got banned, then ask them if it's possible to remove that ban so we can archive their sites at a much lower rate. If the admins are there, maybe also ask them what rate would be acceptable to them. |

I've been working on an archiving project for my school & figured might as well post a bit about it here. For context: USA (Oregon) arts-based school built in the 40's and has been deteriorating & falling apart over the last few decades. At the end of this year, it's being completely torn down and rebuilt and in the process alot of stuff is set to be thrown out. |

All 100 or so VHS tapes of student films, all 75 MiniDV tapes, boxes of books/textbooks/yearbooks, and the (now discontinued) student newspaper archives that have been in storage for the last 6 years or so are all set to be tossed, and so I've been desperately trying to get everything archived and preserved before that happens |
