i highly recommend using vanilla webkitgtk+ with, uh, python bindings or something: https://gist.github.com/kanzure/6581415 (which you can compile from webkit.git upstream) (this is just some crappy example) |

this is because the version of qtwebkit inside of phantomjs is from an old release of qt 4 which had an old release of qtwebkit (which had an old release of webkit.. you get the idea) |

I'd rather keep PhantomJS around, because (A) the bindings are pretty good and (B) dropping down a level seems premature when e.g. the PhantomJS team is already working on getting Qt 5 + QtWebEngine online |
