the vr241 might also need caps replaced, and may be suffering from 'screen rot' where this sort of black 'cataract' forms at the edges of the crt tube; that's actually moisture (and bacteria?) infiltrating the layer of PVA between the glass 'safety shield' mounted/taped to the front of the crt tube and the tube itself |
