hey! any non-warrior project need to be run? I just checked teh wiki one and is seems like all lists are claimed? |
02:31
🔗
|
garyrh |
gui7, all the warrior projects can also be run manually |
02:33
🔗
|
gui7 |
yeah, I know, I meant those that can be run manually that aren't on the warrior |

thanks garyrh, I'll try running it! On my machine the warrior has always maxed out at like 200 kb/s (when in reality I get 10MB/s down) so I always feel a bit silly trying to contribute via warrior projects hehe |

I'm not sure, this is a new (clean) VM... but I hadn't thought of that, let me check |

FYI, Warrior participation is needed on Viddler |

can you safely run 6 threads for that project? |

probably, though expect me to throttle the upload sooner if you do that |

I'll switch mine over to Viddler, and you can throttle the upload as needed |

you were right btw - clang was missing :) |
03:07
🔗
|
yipdw |
we usually build with gcc/g++ |
03:07
🔗
|
yipdw |
clang should be close enough, but I don't think anyone has tested it a lot |
03:08
🔗
|
yipdw |
use gcc if you can |
03:08
🔗
|
yipdw |
gui7: actually, we could use more people running the Warrior for Viddler |
03:08
🔗
|
gui7 |
I'm not sure how to do that... I did "apt-get install gcc" and it told me it was already installed, so I figured it required clang... |
03:09

|

it's possible that you're missing some other part of the build toolchain; what does the config.log say? |
03:12
🔗
|
gui7 |
it's very possible, given I was also missing a bunch of other stuff I've been installing |
03:12
🔗
|
gui7 |
now it's saying I dont have lua (I do - just apt-get'd it) |
03:13
🔗
|
gui7 |
I'm not sure if this is the the relevant part of config.log, but here goes: |
03:13
🔗
|
gui7 |
"configure:5230: checking how to run the C preprocessor |

03:14
🔗
|
yipdw |
it's part of how autoconf determines how the compiler rejects source code that references nonexistent headers |
03:14
🔗
|
gui7 |
ah - what part of the log should I be looking for then? |
03:15
🔗

yipdw |
I don't know; config.log is huge |
