05:56 πŸ”— kmccoy Hello friends. I just started running the Warrior. I'm glad to have found a way to contribute bandwidth to a cause. This is very minor, but the bandwidth graph in the lower left of the interface is just staying at zero. I couldn't find any ideas on troubleshooting it on the web site. Are there any quick things I can do? The Warrior is running in the Oracle VM on Windows 10. I changed
05:56 πŸ”— kmccoy the networking from NAT to bridged but it wasn't working in NAT mode either.
06:00 πŸ”— marked if you're running it for Tumblr , switch to #tumbledown
06:01 πŸ”— kmccoy Okay. I'm just running it as whatever the admins select, but I guess right now that's Tumblr.
06:02 πŸ”— Somebody2 kmccoy: The bandwidth graph sometimes has problems.
06:03 πŸ”— Somebody2 As long as you are seeing progress on the individual items, you're golden
06:03 πŸ”— kmccoy Okay, cool. Thanks!

08:04 πŸ”— SketchCow For anybody wondering
08:04 πŸ”— SketchCow I'm making the thumbnails of all these grabs various glamour photos of David Karp
08:07 πŸ”— Flashfire hehehehehehe
08:17 πŸ”— voltagex_ wget-lua is getting harder to build on newer distros
08:17 πŸ”— voltagex_ is anyone looking after it these days?
08:25 πŸ”— SketchCow Thank you for volunteering
08:26 πŸ”— voltagex_ SketchCow: expected, but I need one other dev/sysadmin to help me make a decision. The way I would do it would lock out machines running distros that are over 2 years old
08:26 πŸ”— voltagex_ SketchCow: either - forward port the lua patches to the latest wget
08:27 πŸ”— marked my vote is we migrate to wpull
08:27 πŸ”— voltagex_ SketchCow: or patch wget-lua for newer openssl versions
08:27 πŸ”— SketchCow Or give good solid intrviewes
08:27 πŸ”— SketchCow I mean errors
08:27 πŸ”— voltagex_ SketchCow: the keys are like right next to each other!
08:28 πŸ”— voltagex_ for the love of god, pull get-wget-lua out to its own repo.
08:28 πŸ”— voltagex_ I also don't know what version of "RedHat" the last change to get-wget-lua is referring to, because it's causing me some issues.
08:29 πŸ”— marked I built it on fedora 28
08:29 πŸ”— voltagex_ (and yes we probably do care about RH based distros due to Amazon Linux)
08:29 πŸ”— voltagex_ marked: do you have access to that box at the moment?
08:30 πŸ”— marked yes
08:30 πŸ”— voltagex_ what does /etc/os-release say, did you use openssl or gnutls and what's the lua folder in /usr/include called?
08:30 πŸ”— voltagex_ (lua-5.1 or lua5.1)
08:31 πŸ”— marked I was going to rewrite it better but I just needed it built asap
08:32 πŸ”— marked $ cat /etc/os-release

08:32 πŸ”— voltagex_ dude, too many paste lines
08:32 πŸ”— voltagex_ hm, so it does ID as fedora
08:33 πŸ”— voltagex_ marked: will push my changes up and show you what I'm thinking
08:34 πŸ”— marked $ rpm -ql compat-lua-devel-5.1.5-10.fc28.x86_64
08:34 πŸ”— marked /usr/include/lua-5.1
08:34 πŸ”— voltagex_ compat-lua?
08:34 πŸ”— voltagex_ I can never get used to RedHat package naming
08:34 πŸ”— marked non compat is at 5.3
08:34 πŸ”— voltagex_ oh *right*
08:34 πŸ”— voltagex_ much newer than Debian/Ubuntu
08:35 πŸ”— marked thats where I got stuck
08:35 πŸ”— marked I'm not sure about the SSL bc I installed both in desperation
08:36 πŸ”— marked I could check hthe binary
08:38 πŸ”— voltagex_ the script will prefer gnutls over openssl (libssl) which is fine by me
08:38 πŸ”— marked thats what it picked up it seems
08:42 πŸ”— voltagex_ marked: https://github.com/voltagex/tumblr-grab/blob/os-check-wget-lua/get-wget-lua.sh#L8
08:42 πŸ”— voltagex_ can do similar for other distros
08:45 πŸ”— marked what Im thinking is some of this should be in autoconf
08:48 πŸ”— marked maybe some should be in a patch set
08:49 πŸ”— marked and a system for checking dependencies
08:49 πŸ”— voltagex_ yes, but if we're buggerising around with autoconf you may as well forward port it
08:49 πŸ”— voltagex_ C is easier than autoconf
08:49 πŸ”— voltagex_ and there's lots of other fixes in wget 1.19
08:51 πŸ”— marked to be honest this crawl could have started earlier if not required learning Lua
08:51 πŸ”— marked who else uses this besides AT ?
08:52 πŸ”— voltagex_ no one
08:52 πŸ”— voltagex_ afaik
08:53 πŸ”— marked could you take a look and estimate how much it would take to port lua to modern build version?
08:54 πŸ”— voltagex_ erm
08:54 πŸ”— voltagex_ I think I looked at this a while ago and went "lol, I'm a python programmer, wtf am I doing?" and forgot about it.
08:55 πŸ”— marked there will always more python dvs going forward
08:55 πŸ”— marked take a look at wpull
08:59 πŸ”— marked I'll look at the wget change logs
09:08 πŸ”— voltagex_ marked: https://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/QuDrDBwv/
09:11 πŸ”— marked ok, I think I see 5x .c files
09:14 πŸ”— marked 5x doesnt sound like much but the number of lines they changed prob tells more
09:15 πŸ”— voltagex_ the other issue is we're 2 years behind the 4 year old lua fork
09:15 πŸ”— voltagex_ :P
09:18 πŸ”— voltagex_ 9a5cb5fe5c9ab8dad9b0f47f7a0b7aadb503a1c9 is the last commit we have from upstream

22:39 πŸ”— JAA Going by the domain names, it's already transferred, yeah. I'll throw the site into ArchiveBot anyway since that domain will probably disappear at some point.
