13:17 🔗 jbroome So what happens when the available disk space i've allocated fills up? The script didn't clean up after itself, is it safe to assume everything i've grabbed has been uploaded to archive?
14:09 🔗 atomotic has quit IRC (Quit: Textual IRC Client: www.textualapp.com)
14:32 🔗 db48x jbroome: the whole point of this project is to back up the internet archive, not to download something that gets uploaded to the archive
14:33 🔗 db48x your disk space becomes part of a distributed storage system from which we can restore data should the need arise
14:34 🔗 jbroome Ooooh
14:34 🔗 jbroome gotcha!
14:34 🔗 jbroome i was thinking along the lines of the other archive projects where we grab and it gets sent somewhere.
14:35 🔗 jbroome excellent!
14:35 🔗 db48x :)
14:35 🔗 db48x I was just going to mention those, in case you hadn't heard of them
14:36 🔗 db48x anyway, for this project all you really need to do is make sure the cron job (or systemd service) occasionally syncs your shards so that we know that they still exist
14:38 🔗 jbroome yup, made an 'archive' user and the cronjob is in place.
14:38 🔗 db48x perfect
14:39 🔗 jbroome now i just need to make sure rsnapshot doesn't back it up. :)
14:41 🔗 db48x ah :)
