[21:48] <Martini> I want to upload a independent movie to Internet Archive. But I want it to be possible for people to play it on the browser, like other videos on the site. 
[21:48] <Martini> The first one I uploaded was like 2GB and does not run on the browser. 
[21:48] <Martini> The second one was compressed to 1Gb and still does not run.

[21:51] <DFJustin> if it's mp4 it needs to be encoded as a streamable mp4
[21:53] <DFJustin> 'moov atom' is the term
[21:53] <DFJustin> also note that you can edit your existing item and replace the files without uploading a new one every time
[21:55] <DFJustin> if you upload another format like .mkv or .mov then archive.org will do the work and re-encode a streamable mp4 for you although the quality may not be very good

[21:58] <DFJustin> you can also have multiple files on the same item so you could have a smaller streamable file and the bigger archival quality one
