I’ve seen that attitude crop up amongst librarians and archivists too, on Twitter — it’s like, how dare other people save data (or tag data, or add metadata, or whatever Complaint X is today), don’t they know that only Very Serious People can do that work, people like me who get paid? |

And on another mailing list I’m on, the FOI-L list (for Freedom of Information request filers, journalists, and attorneys) was pointing out that same NY Times article today, praising it, and directing worried scientists (who were asking the EFF for help saving government climate data) to the IA. |
