[14:02] There's books being scanned, yes, in a bunch of spots. [14:02] The mega-scanning center, however, has now moved from Hong Kong to the Phillipines [14:03] They've been working on it for some time, and it begins spinning up for reals next month [14:03] There's considerations of holidays and things [14:03] But right now, across the whole of all the centers, we're scanning around 800-1000 books a day. [14:03] The goal is something much more insane than that [14:03] So insane, I've been starting to ramp up prepping books I really, really care about because they're gonna get fuckin' scanned [14:03] It's going to be very enjoyable. [14:04] But that FOS.TEXTFILES.COM book scanning thing, it keeps dying. [14:04] For various reasons, but not the least of which is that I'm not privvy to the changes being done [14:49] *** atomotic has quit IRC (Quit: Textual IRC Client: www.textualapp.com) [14:56] Thank you for the update [14:56] In fact I was surprised that the slideshow still worked. :) I assumed you had just left it untouched for years [16:15] *** VoynichCr has quit IRC (Read error: Operation timed out) [16:15] *** VoynichCr has joined #internetarchive [16:53] *** fredgido_ is now known as fredgido [17:02] *** vitzli has joined #internetarchive [17:04] *** vitzli has quit IRC (Client Quit) [22:21] A question in #tumbledown just made me think: if there's any child pornography in the Tumblr archives, that obviously needs to be deleted. What happens to the WARCs containing that data? Do they get post-processed to remove it? Or would the relevant parts be zerod out? Would the rest of the data (which is hopefully good) be affected in any way? (I don't know if I'll get an actual answer to this, but [22:21] I'd still be interested in any thoughts on the topic.)
