I've been getting a bunch of CAPCHAs from Google recently -- could that be related to running the urlteam job on the warrior? |

I don't know if the goo.gl shortner is on the list, but I don't see much utility in shortening a google search. |

Then again, I don't see the utility in shortners in general. |

I guess that is my indirect way of saying that you should look at some of the options suggested here: https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/86640?hl=en |

The goo.gl shortener doesn't seem to be currently on the list (but I thought I remembered seeing it). The only other things I'm running are a torrent client seeding only very legal stuff (various linux distros, musicbrainz virtual machine, two aaron swartz documentaries from IA) and a Tor middle node. So I'm rather confused about what Google could be upset about. |

aaaaaaaaa: goo.gl works for any link, not just searches. It gives metrics like clicks/time, referrers, etc. URL shortners are sometimes handy IMO because regular URLs can get too long too be human friendly. |

I suppose. But sometimes it's necessary to type a URL. Not often, but sometimes. Like when giving a presentation from a machine you don't own. That's when I've found them most useful |
