Anybody here? [20:02] why? [20:02] Just wanted to suggest a wiki that should have high priority. [20:02] It's listed on WikiApiary as https://wikiapiary.com/wiki/WOT_Wiki [20:02] Its homepage at https://www.mywot.com/wiki/Main_Page [20:03] A disgruntled individual recently signed up for WOT and vandalized almost all the pages. I went through the history (I am a member there) and restored them all one at a time. [20:06] vandalism is part of wikis [20:06] why should it have higher prio? than e.g. a wiki that will cease to exist in x months? [20:07] why not motivate the wiki admin to install some vandalism tools? [20:10] BFeely I may be too harsh now? :-( don't misunderstand, just playing devil's advocate [20:12] One thing about WOT is that their MediaWiki instance uses WOT's account system for authentication. Maybe I will suggest that editing privileges only be given to users above a certain activity level. The vandal was a newly registered user and not gained any activity score. [20:13] if the admin has the tools, he can mass delete also edits [20:13] * behind_yo sees no problems, as long as you have an active admin ;-) [20:13] *** behind_yo is now known as Erkan [20:14] Not even sure who is responsible for administering the wiki on WOT. They haven't even had a CEO in the past few months, and even on the forums it often takes several hours for moderation to occur. [20:15] I tried dumping it with python dumpgenerator.py https://www.mywot.com --xml --images and it fails with an error message Unsupported wiki. Wiki engines supported are: MediaWiki [20:15] It seems like their api.php is broken [20:16] Aha: https://www.mywot.com/w/api.php [20:17] *** Start_ is now known as Start [20:18] Thanks kyan. I was about to do so myself. [20:18] Don't thank me yet, I'm getting an error message http://pastebin.com/wHXifvA7 [20:19] I assume I'm doing something wrong [20:20] I put it into archivebot [20:21] no matter what, I'd get hold of the admin first, any spammer/vandalizer will only make trouble in the future [20:22] I already alerted the closest thing to the admin I know about. He terminated the user's account and the wiki has been quiet the past week. [20:34] *** BFeely has quit IRC (Quit: Page closed) [21:30] *** pir^2 has joined #wikiteam [21:30] Erkan - should be fixed, try git pull origin master [21:30] Wait, are you the same Erkan as on Wikiversity? [21:31] I am guilty [21:32] Does the dumpgenerator work now? [21:33] @kyan [21:33] I'll try it [21:33] that bug was in master for a week and nobody reported it?! [21:34] (BTW I introduced it in the first place, while trying to fix another bug) [21:34] Seems to be working, but getting a warning: [21:34] ./Library/Python/2.7/site-packages/requests/packages/urllib3/util/ssl_.py:79: InsecurePlatformWarning: A true SSLContext object is not available. This prevents urllib3 from configuring SSL appropriately and may cause certain SSL connections to fail. For more information, see https://urllib3.readthedocs.org/en/latest/security.html#insecureplatformwarning. [21:35] pir^2 I guess then I know you too from WV ? [21:35] Failed with an error message: [21:35] http://pastebin.com/XCdJahHS [21:35] That's unrelated, kyan, ... oh, let me see (re: pastebin error) [21:35] (the warning about SSL was unrelated) [21:35] Ah, cool [21:36] What happens if you resume? [21:36] Erkan - well, not WV specifically, but Wikimedia in general [21:37] pir^2 ok, nice to meet you [21:37] wiki world is so small [21:38] although I'm pretty sure I did talk to you in freenode #wikiversity once or twice [21:38] Not sure if I did it correctly: http://pastebin.com/814SvaHk [21:38] wow, that's weird kyan, looks like an HTTP server error [21:39] Ah! Resuming a second time (rerunning that command) is working [21:40] There's a bug like "auto-resume on trivial errors" [21:40] Failed after a little while again with Export from 'https://www.mywot.com/w/index.php' did not return anything., resuming again is working again [21:41] https://github.com/WikiTeam/wikiteam/issues/242 - https://github.com/WikiTeam/wikiteam/issues/33 [21:42] Nemo or I will probably fix that eventually. Unless someone else submits a pull request first [22:04] *** pir^2 has quit IRC (Ping timeout: 370 seconds)
